With purchasing this pattern you get a bundle of two knitting patterns of a perfectly matched set - the amazing cowl Nelthil and the hat Varya.

Knit the cowl and the hat in different or in the same yarn and color - you always get two very nice looking accessories.

Needed materials for the hat:

• approx. 150 m [164 yds] of aran weight yarn (e.g. MyBoshi Goat, approx. 70 gr [2.47 oz])
• Single point knitting needle or circular knitting needle size 6 mm [US10]
• 2 stitch markers
• measuring tape for measuring the head circumference
• sewing needle
• scissors
• waste yarn for the provisional cast on
• crochet hook size 6 mm [US J]

The hat is worked flat in back- and forth-rows, eliminating the need for double pointed needles. A gauge swatch is not necessary because you don’t have to calculate stitches for the head circumference.
Skill level easy to intermediate.

Needed materials for the cowl:

• approx. 120 gr 4.2 oz of aran or chunky weight yarn (approx. 250 m 273 yds)
• Circular knitting needle size 6mm US10
• Stitch marker
• Scissors
• Sewing needle

The cowl is knitted bottom-up, started from only a few stitches at the bottom point. It is worked in back-and-forth rows which will be joined into the round at the nape. Its shape is achieved by increasing and decreasing regularly.

Finished size after blocking: approx. 63 cm 24.8 in x 30 cm 11.8 int the neckside)
Gauge: 16 stitches x 26 rows = 10 x 10 cm 4 in, stockinette stitch, on 6mm US10 needles
