I need to buy some yarn,

because I’ve just fallen head over heels in love with the Carmen vest—I absolutely have to have it. Luckily, we have a great yarn shop right here in town where I can get exactly the kind of yarn I have in mind

Earlier, I had to order a skein of alpaca yarn over the phone, since my niece is also supposed to get wrist warmers, and I have half a skein each of dusty pink and dark red left over, but only solid-colored ones were requested…
That leaves me with just half a skein in my stash, which still counts as stash reduction, right?

I’m not going to knit this vest, though, because when I showed it to my husband, he said, “The way it looks in the picture, that’s not for you.” I have to say he’s right—I have a physical disability and walk slightly bent forward, so with those points hanging down at my knees, the vest doesn’t exactly look chic and elegant on me. But I’m going to sew one in this style that fits my crooked figure—a woman’s got to be flexible, after all. :-) I learned how to draft a pattern back in the day, so that’s no problem for me; it’ll just take a little while to find the right knit fabric.

The vest is made so that I can put it on easily without stepping on the front flaps.
So now I’m knitting wrist warmers :-)
