Crocheting and Knitting as Meditation?

Hi, a while ago I read about crafts in connection with meditation. I’d love to hear your opinions and experiences on this, if you have any. Thanks.

Do you mean meditation while crocheting and knitting in the sense of switching off from everyday life?
Or meditation in the true sense of the word—coming to yourself, finding
calm through breathing exercises, and seeking and finding your inner center?
I’m not sure whether you can really relax and find peace when you’re thinking about a crochet pattern or the number of stitches in a row.
But it probably doesn’t leave much room for other thoughts
—although if you’re just crocheting away and don’t have a new or overly difficult pattern, but one you already know, then you don’t have to focus on it all the time.
Well, it just depends; I guess it varies from person to person.
 

Yes, for me, crocheting is that and more—even though I wouldn’t call it meditation.
