Felt Boots with a Rolled Cuff
Men get cold feet, too. And you can do something about it with the right Christmas gift. You knit the boots; the washing machine takes care of the felting. You can make them in any size and in the recipient’s favorite colors. Feel free to check out my examples. If you click on the headline, you’ll go straight to the pictures and pattern.
Leather Soles
Since a man’s foot doesn’t grow anymore, I recommend adding a homemade leather sole. This makes the shoe last four times longer, provides even more cushioning with every step, and gives the felt shoe a more professional look. The pattern describes, step by step and with a template, how to make beautiful soles for felt shoes from an old leather jacket or bag.

Felt Insoles
Since we’re already on the topic of feet and felt shoes, here’s a third tip for a men’s Christmas gift. Very simple, very straightforward, very practical, and always useful:
homemade felt insoles
to slip into boots, shoes, and clogs. My husband always gets them for his fishing boots. That way, his feet are always warm, no matter what the weather is like. By now, I’m making them for the whole fishing club… So, maybe something for your husband, too?
Here’s what the smaller version for clogs looks like. The felt insole is knitted, felted in the washing machine, and then cut to size using a template. The felt is nice and thick, insulating the foot from the cold coming up from below and cushioning each step.
I hope you enjoy all these projects — Ina
