Stitch Choice: Use Up Leftover Yarn or Prefer Full Skeins?

[ ] use up leftover yarn, quick and colorful and ready to go
[ ] use new yarn / full skeins of yarn

I like to use whole skeins of yarn.

I mainly create patterns using leftover yarn because I don’t have the patience for large projects. Of course, I always check to see if I have anything suitable among my leftovers. But when I have a specific idea in mind, I’ll buy the yarn I need. And most of the time, I end up with a little leftover yarn—for next time.

I prefer to work with a new ball of yarn. I often end up making just little things, but I’m sure what I have left will be enough.

Definitely:
[ ] Use up leftover yarn, short and colorful and available right away
[X ] Use new yarn / whole balls of yarn

I also prefer using new skeins.

Since I have such a large stash, I use both. For large pieces, of course, I use whole skeins. But there are always leftovers, which I then use for smaller pieces.

I prefer new skeins. But of course, I’m happy to use the leftovers, too. You buy new skeins because they’re so beautiful (some you just want to display on a shelf and admire), so I’m always happy when I can start the right project for them.

I prefer whole skeins, but I’ll soon be doing a project to use up the small leftovers.
