Reinforcing the shoulders on knitted garments

Hi everyone!
Maybe someone can help me out. I’d like to reinforce the top edge of a cardigan—from shoulder to shoulder—with velvet ribbon or something similar, so the shoulders don’t sag as much under the weight.
I saw a video about this somewhere, but I can’t find it anywhere anymore. I also don’t remember exactly what it was called—maybe the seamstresses here have some advice?

I’m not sure if anyone has responded to your problem yet.
I once knitted a very thick coat—heavy knitted pieces tend to sag quite a bit.
I reinforced the shoulder seams and the neckline with a color-coordinated bias strip made of fine corduroy. Sew a strip of bias tape (cut yourself or store-bought) onto the seam from the inside, and also along the edges where the neckband or collar meets the garment. There’s also special seam tape made of Vlieseline, but it’s too weak for heavy pieces. Unfortunately, I haven’t found a suitable link for this either.
You can also make a facing and use it to reinforce the armholes as well. To do this, make a yoke from matching fabric and don’t sew it on at the bottom—only at the seams. It will look like a lining, and when you wear the jacket open, it looks good too.
