A W A R D S C E R E M O N Y September Projects
in alphabetical order

Arni is a winner and has won

Congratulations on the title Shopping Queen.
The stuffed animal for Anton, for which you bought yarn, is sure to please him.

Warm congratulations also on the title busy Christmas elf and on finishing your Christmas gifts / photo books with photos from Anton’s 1st year really early. I invented this new title because of you. Of course that earns extra karma points for you, and for Anton too, of course.
As always, you were very busy in September. I can’t award titles for projects that aren’t finished yet, but certainly at the end of October.
You also receive extra karma points for sharing your recipes in the forum. I think that’s great.

ChristinaE. is a winner and has won

Congratulations on the title Best with Leftovers for the baby shoes, the guardian angels, and the tissue pouches. Congratulations also on finishing the bathrobe.

There are extra points for giving away your handmade items, as well as for the guardian angel that is going on the trip with you and hopefully bringing you safely back. Have fun. :- )

Fadenstrang is a winner and has won

Congratulations on the title Shopping Queen for your pretty purchases, and congratulations on the title Lucky One because the yarn wasn’t lost, despite the rain. That earns extra karma points, and the photo earns even more.
Shopping Queen: Bought yarn today? (No advertising )

Fun-Design is a winner and has won

It’s great that you’re joining in now too. :- ) That earns extra karma points. Congratulations on the title Shopping Queen for significantly expanding your stash. A great remnant sale like that is always a wonderful thing.
Of course there are extra karma points for your photos.

Warm congratulations also on the title Concrete Casting Specialist: reworking the fountain, adding extra planting hollows, and the effort with the molds for the little houses are impressive.

It’s wonderful that, in addition to the fountain, you also finished the toilet-roll hat with a gift certificate. Of course gifts also earn extra karma points.
Keep having fun. :- )

Haekeltrulla is a winner and has won

Congratulations, your vest looks great. Extra points for the photo. Congratulations also on being Yarn Empress. :-)
And soon I’ll be able to congratulate you on being an Inner-Pig-Dog Tamer.
You can do it. That will bring you lots of karma points.

Iglinz is a winner and has won

At the moment she doesn’t write here very often, but for bravery in everyday life I am of course awarding her a title and lots of extra karma points as well, so the sun will shine again soon.

Krea_Tina is a winner and has won

Congratulations on the title Best with Leftovers for the new hats made from leftover yarn. Congratulations on the title Shopping Queen for the merino yarn and the pom-pom.

Congratulations also on the title busy Christmas elf for starting the very first Christmas amigurumi. That will certainly earn lots of extra karma points.

Congratulations also on the title Yarn Rescuer, since you made a hat from the formerly not-so-popular yarn, and extra karma points because you’re happy with the hat.

And congratulations on a total of five finished projects, two of which are newly uploaded patterns.

Mifas is a winner and has won

Congratulations on the title Shopping Queen, which you truly earned by expanding your yarn stash. There are also extra karma points for the photo with the pretty Bobbels.

MonsZa-Design is a winner and has won

It’s great that you’re joining in now too; that earns extra karma points.
Congratulations on the title Shopping Queen for the cuddly yarn that will become a cowl. Congratulations also on the title Yarn Emperor/Empress / on the successful yarn diet, since apparently you hadn’t bought anything for months before that. That is enough for the title.

Congratulations also on the title busy Christmas elf, since you finished lots of decorations for Advent and Christmas in September.

Warm congratulations also on the title Rescuer of Stubborn Yarn, or rather the title Yarn Whisperer (I just invented that for you ), since you got the yarn for the cowl to talk and worked it up. That earns good karma.

Congratulations on expanding your photography skills at Photokina. I think that’s great.

Wonderful that you preserved and processed so much fruit and vegetables in September. Extra points, of course, for thinking of your friends.

It’s also nice that you treated yourself to an evening break in front of the TV with a cozy blanket.

Mowi19 is a winner and has won

Congratulations on the title UFO Queen for three finished UFOs at once, and of course extra karma points for the hooded hat with knitted-on cowl that was given to your granddaughter, for the baby set of sweater and hat, which also earns extra points since it will be a gift for your second grandchild, and for the pretty headband.

Congratulations also on the title Shopping Queen for the yarn you bought to replace what you needed, and extra karma points for the gifted yarn.

Congratulations also on the title busy Christmas elf, although this really only applies to finished projects, but working on Christmas gifts early is always a good idea.

I can’t award the title Frogging Monster Tamer in September, because the vest isn’t finished but is being frogged again.

Congratulations on learning new knitting patterns and the new cable pattern.

It’s great that you were able to work on many projects in the garden, on the balcony, and at the campsite. Also wonderful that you preserved or processed lots of fruit.

Nadeleule is a winner and has won

Congratulations on finishing your marathon project, the cozy blanket, which had to be paused several times because of the heat. Finished is finished, and it turned out beautifully.

It’s great that the blanket also qualified for the title Best with Leftovers, because you knitted up lots of leftovers for it, among other things. The effort with the blanket was definitely worth it, so in addition to the two titles I am of course giving you extra karma points.

Congratulations also on the title Shopping Queen for buying yarn / Bobbels for a few new projects, as well as merino and alpaca yarn for the blanket.

Sensationally, the blanket is also enough for a third title, the title of busy Christmas elf, and for even more karma points. :- )

And the blanket is also enough for the title "Rescuer of Unloved Yarn" plus extra karma points.
No one can say you didn’t get the maximum out of your blanket. :- )

The blanket is also enough for the title Frogging Monster Tamer in September and extra karma points.
I have to stop giving you extra karma points now before your karma goes through the roof. Pun intended. :- )

Congratulations also on learning to work from crochet charts. That is always a good thing, and you’ll benefit from it for a long time.

And while crocheting the blanket, you were able to cover yourself with that very blanket at the same time. I hereby award your blanket the title "Miracle Blanket of the Month" and hope it finds many enthusiastic buyers who get just as much fun from it.

Sofis-Welt is a winner and has won

Congratulations on the title UFO Queen for the summer pants and the summer tunic. Extra points for keeping the summer sunshine in your heart. :- )
Congratulations also on the title Shopping Queen for the yarn that will become the two soul warmers or was used for the last summer projects.

Congratulations also on the title Concrete Casting Specialist for the 4 concrete slabs as coasters for a macramé hanging planter, and of course also congratulations on learning the fisherman’s rib pattern.

It’s great that you were able to use the time on the balcony for your projects and also relax in the evenings wrapped in a blanket.

I’m sure you’ll soon successfully upload new patterns. Of course there will be extra karma points for that.

RuthK is a winner and has won

Even if you aren’t a UFO Queen this month, you’re sure to win that title again soon. :- ) And of course you get extra karma points for getting back into it after a longer break. Have fun with it.
Congratulations on the title Best with Leftovers for your nativity-figure patterns. It’s great that you used up lots of leftover yarn. I assume that buyers of these patterns will also be able to use up lots of leftover yarn. So they’re basically all Best with Leftovers too. That worked out well. :- )

Warm congratulations on being Shopping Queen.
That’s just the problem with leftovers: something is always missing. But it’s nice that you were able to stock up without any fuss. With the leftovers you still have, you’re sure to make many more enchanting projects.

Congratulations also on the title "busy Christmas elf." It’s commendable that you were already working in September on decorations for Advent / Christmas or on corresponding patterns for the nativity figures. That gives these patterns enough time to sell well before Christmas and make many people happy in the process. Extra karma points for you. :- )

If you love your yarn / certain skeins so much that you don’t want to use them up, for example to win the title Stepchild Yarn Rescuer or Rescuer of Unloved Yarn, that still earns karma points, because apparently you’re having fun with it. That’s what counts.

It’s also wonderful that you wrapped yourself comfortably in a cozy blanket for crafting. Relaxing in the evening is good for body and soul.

Four projects / uploaded patterns in September are great and get your karma points moving. :- )

Wollefaden is a winner and has won

Congratulations on the title UFO Queen for finishing a fidget blanket that had been unfinished for quite a while.
There are extra karma points because the blanket is being donated and will hopefully give the recipient pleasant hours.

Warm congratulations also on the title Best with Leftovers, since you made all September projects with leftover yarn. That is impressive.

Congratulations on being Yarn Empress for the successful yarn diet in September. At the end of October I’ll congratulate you on ruling this galaxy / Milky Way, and in mid-December I’ll congratulate you on being an Inner-Pig-Dog Tamer.
I have no doubt about your staying power.

Congratulations also on the title Wallflower Rescuer in September for beautifying the blanket, to which flowers and loops, each made from a separate pattern, were attached.

Congratulations also on learning two new patterns / Tunisian crochet.
I am also awarding your blanket the title Miracle Blanket. :- )

It’s great that you were able to work on your September projects in the garden and had fun doing it.

As always, you were very busy in September and accomplished a lot. I’ll just copy that in here. Well done.
Quote begins
2 roses, 1 massage band, 1 Christmas tree, 1 four-leaf clover, 1 autumn figure (Else ), 4 autumn leaves, 1 flower, 4 loops (wallflowers ), 1
comfort cloth, 1 fidget blanket (UFO )
Quote ends.

Now I’ve finished and photographed my UFO sweater.

UFO King/Queen in September
[x ] I finished three UFOs in September and have truly earned the title UFO King/Queen.

This hooded hat with a knitted-on loop is finished, and I gave it to my granddaughter:

This baby set made up of a sweater and hat was completed today. My 2nd grandchild, who is currently still in the planning stage, will get it later.

And then there’s the headband for me, which I started in August—that’s finished now too:

New: Shopping Queen / King:
(x) I bought some more yarn that I was missing in order to finish my projects. I also received 700 g of merino yarn as a gift, and about another 500 g of cotton. Of course I was very happy about that. Here is a photo of the wonderful gifts (not everything fit in the photo):

New: busy Christmas elves
[ x] I worked on Christmas gifts in September.
I started crocheting the little winter bear, and with that I also started rescuing a wallflower. It’s still in progress and is going into October as a UFO.

Taming the Frogging Monster in September
[ x] In September I frogged a large part of a work in progress three times now—the vest for my husband. Yesterday I discovered that a mistake had crept into the upper left front piece—so I frogged it again. Since I design a lot of things as I knit, that happens to me sometimes. But that’s okay. This way the vest will be truly perfect in the end.

Also, with the yarn I was given, there was an entire front piece of a sweater that had been started. I frogged that too.

Learned something new in September
[ x] I learned something new in September and am therefore a winner. :- )
I tried out new knitting patterns again and learned more, including cable patterns.

I also got to know new vegan recipes, for example vegan herring salad (thanks, Inna).

End-of-summer updates / the last garden projects / vacation projects in September / preserves / homemade jam, etc., etc. + new: cozy-blanket evenings
[ x] I worked on several projects in the garden, on the balcony, and on vacation at the campsite. I also processed a lot of fruit into jam, purée, and cake. Of course I had a lot of fun doing it. :- )
The last UFO—the baby sweater—was finished on the balcony on September 30.

all September projects
Number of projects finished in September: 3
I started 2 projects that will go into October as UFOs. They’re still flying around my ears.

At this point, another thank-you from me for this thread. If it didn’t exist, my UFOs would still be circling for a long time... ;-)

It’s really fun to motivate each other here and to post the current status now and then. Thanks also to everyone who takes part here. :-)

I wish you all an inspiring week and am looking forward to everything new in October.

Josefa, thank you! You really did a fantastic job writing the winners’ announcement for everyone.

Quite honestly, this has now become a real highlight for me at the end of each month, something I’d really hate to miss and always look forward to. That’s why I’m very happy to keep taking part.

Above all, it’s an incentive not to let UFOs lie around for too long, but to finish them.

By the way, the gifted yarn comes from my granddaughter’s great-grandmother’s estate (her mother’s grandmother). And now I’ve decided to knit something from it for my granddaughter. Gray and white combine really well with red or blue. The yarn should be enough for a sweater, hat, leggings, and socks. Her great-grandmother would surely be very happy that the yarn is being put to such good use. If there’s any left over, I’ll make something from it for her future little sibling.

@Ruth
Was this your first time participating?
I’ve lost track a bit at the moment.
If so, you’ll of course get extra karma points for that, too.

I’d also like to thank you for the lovely awards ceremony, even though I didn’t actually participate. Not that you should think you’ve gotten rid of me—it’s just that everything is very depressing right now. My father passed away, and at the moment I’m spending my days at the hospital with my husband, who is seriously ill, and I’m very worried. I can’t knit right now—I just can’t bring myself to do it.
But congratulations to all the winners! And a special thank you to Josefa for knocking on my shell.

(It’s such a bummer—I bought new yarn last week, and I just can’t bring myself to do anything with it.)

My condolences on the passing of your father and best wishes to your husband.

I just noticed that you haven’t been as active lately.
You’re really part of the community here.

I’ve been bumping up a bunch of forum game threads today.
Maybe that would be something for you if you’d like a little distraction now and then? It doesn’t require as much concentration as knitting.

Dear Ida,

You have my deepest sympathy. I can totally understand that you’re sad and have lost your enthusiasm for crafting. I’d feel the same way if my husband weren’t doing well.

But Josefa is right. It doesn’t help anyone—not even your husband—if your thoughts are always stuck in a dark place. You can only encourage him if you lift your own spirits. For example, playing a forum game can help pull you out of that endless cycle of thoughts.

In any case, it’s great to have you back here and active again. You were really missed.

A warm hug, if you’d like. And remember, the sun is always shining, even when there’s a thick layer of clouds in the way.

Warm regards, Monika

Can I still join?

We were on vacation for a few days and I couldn’t check in beforehand.

I’ve actually managed not to buy any yarn so far.

That’s why I’m still in the running for the “Conqueror of My Inner Slacker” title.

Maybe you can still count me in, dear Josefa.

Thanks.

Best regards, Heike

@Haekeltrulla,
I’ve added you to the list too. No one gets left behind.
Congratulations :-)
Just let me know as soon as you’ve managed the Schweinehundbezwinger = 1 year without buying yarn, so I can award you lots of karma points.

Dear Ida,
I, too, wish you lots of strength for the coming days, even if you don’t feel like writing much right now—or aren’t able to. I think a lot of people here are thinking of you. Sending you a big hug.
And the new yarn isn’t going anywhere, either. :-)
