Tomorrow we’re heading back to the lake. Time to enjoy this beautiful late-summer weather. My husband and the kids are going windsurfing; I’m bringing my crochet supplies and a book.
On Sunday, we’ll have a guest dog staying with us. I’m already curious to see how our dog will react. The kids don’t know about it yet—it’s sure to be a big hello, lots of barking, and plenty of playtime with both our dog and the new one.
The guest dog will be staying overnight, too. I’m curious to see how much he’ll cry for his owner then.
We’re invited over for dinner on Sunday at a couple’s house—they’re friends of ours from Nigeria... he’s my sister’s ex (they were married for 13 years...), has been living in Germany for ages, and has since started his own family here with a Nigerian woman. It’s always like “The Big Feast”—totally chaotic with the two kids, and she cooks absolutely delicious food—even making it not too spicy for us and leaving out the tripe and dried fish...
Please just don't ask — I set the ball rolling, and it just keeps rolling.
To explain: I drive my husband's old car, which is 13 years old, and his car is 3 years old. Last week, I suggested that if my old car passes its inspection next year, I should start looking for a new one. My husband's enthusiasm was pretty limited at first. Since I'm pretty unemotional when it comes to cars — as long as it runs, that's all that matters — I suggested that I take his 3-year-old car and he get a new one.
Ooohhh man, I really stepped on a landmine. Ever since then, I haven't heard about anything but cars; I'm sure I've seen every YouTube video there is about the models we've picked out, and I've already been on quite a few test drives. Of course, the wife has to be there for everything :-((
I have to go now — we need to head out; the next test drive is coming up.
We’re performing today at the summer festival celebrating the retirement home’s 50th anniversary. It’s cold,
though, and it definitely doesn’t look like the kind of weather for dancing outside...
Besides us, a Portuguese dance group is also scheduled to perform, and the shanty choir will be there, too.
We’ll see how it goes.
Have a great weekend, everyone, and have fun.
Best regards, Marlies
Diana: You poor thing. Which models are we talking about? We’re going to check out a car today, too. The new Fiat 500X is being unveiled at a big event. We’ll see.
I think my husband is sick :-)))) He got up at 8 a.m. of his own accord today and borrowed a lawn aerator. Now he’s out in the garden (when it comes to yard work, my husband is laziness personified).
Well, I’m going to do some laundry now so I can be productive too. Anton and I always do that together. It takes longer, but he has fun.
