Petticoat

how long it takes depends on how experienced you are with machine sewing.
With "petticoat"—is it actually “das” or “der” petticoat?
Oh well, whatever—
so, if you really want this skirt (ha, that fixes the grammar)
, then shouldn’t it be worth the time it takes to make it? Or do you absolutely want to finish it quickly so you can still wear it before the weather changes?

Well, I don’t sew myself, but to me this doesn’t exactly look like a beginner sewing project—from what I’ve read from you in the other threads, you haven’t been sewing for that long yet, have you?
I’d definitely recommend sewing the skirt, since you’ll surely stick with a sewing project you really want to make and learn a whole lot in the process. But I wouldn’t necessarily want to measure it by the minute.


If you like petticoats, do you also like ’50s music and rock ’n’ roll and all that, or is that not really your thing? Or are petticoats not even from the ’50s after all?

Yeah, I haven’t been sewing for very long, but I just fell in love with these “skirts” :) It would be great if I could wear them this summer, but they’d definitely look chic with tights in the fall, too :) The ’50s style is spot on. And you’re right, muetzekatze—you shouldn’t be counting the minutes, but rather taking your time so you can be proud of the result afterward :)

Do you have any fabric on hand that would work?
