Thank you so much, dear ones, for your birthday wishes. 
I’m collecting them all, because honestly, I can really use every single one right now.

It’s a very difficult time for our little family. We spent the day in the Taunus with my mother. She is doing more than badly, and yesterday my stepfather sadly passed away as well. So it was a day with many tears, but also with laughter, because we told each other lots of stories. My heart is still overflowing right now and I’m feeling sentimental. Fortunately, at least my mother-in-law is on the mend again; she has also had a lot of bad luck and pain in recent months.

But what is keeping my head above water this year, when one piece of bad news after another has come crashing down on us, is this lovely community here, the joy I get from my shop and from crafting. That keeps me looking ahead again and again. And reading a little in the forum to see what’s new always does me good.

Good night to you all, I’m going to sink into my bed now and hopefully dream of mountains of yarn.

Oh dear, my heartfelt condolences. I’m tossing a whole lot of yarn your way so that your projects can distract you from your grief a little. When it happens, it often all comes at once :-/ We’ve been through it all too, so I can really relate.

I feel much the same way as you do. This forum and everyone I “meet” here always do me a world of good—especially when life isn’t going so smoothly. For me, knitting and crocheting are like a form of therapy.
