A W A R D C E R E M O N Y August Projects
in alphabetical order

Arni is a winner and has won

Of course you are also part of the award ceremony. Congratulations on finishing the practice blanket. You will surely find a solution for the sewing. You can open a thread in the forum at any time and ask the users / authors. Someone will surely be able to help you. As soon as your tablecloth for your mother and the door wreath for Anton are finished, I will also give you an award for them.

Bastelfan is a winner and has won

It’s great that you are joining in too. Congratulations on the title UFO Queen in August, and for two UFOs at once. Very diligent, and in this heat too: of course there are extra points for that. There are also extra points for the photos.

ChristinaE is a winner and has won

Congratulations on the title UFO Queen for the granny bag. Extra points for using diet yarn. Congratulations on the title Best of Leftovers in August for the dolphin with swim ring, the little seal / keychain, the dino as a bag charm and the two bookmarks in the shape of a rat and a dragon, as well as the two dishcloths in waffle pattern, the flower bracelet and the little pouch.
--> I hereby award you the title extra diligent animal caretaker in August, which I invented especially for you and your leftover yarn use. You earned it. :- )

Congratulations also on the title Wallflower Rescuer in August for the dino and the seal.
And of course congratulations on the title Yarn Rescuer / Material Rescuer for the dishcloth crocheted from yarn that didn’t fit anywhere. It’s lovely that you found a pretty use for this yarn and a good end to its unloved existence.

Congratulations also on being a Frogging Monster Conqueror for the first dishcloth. These two apparently didn’t make things easy for you, one with the frogging and the other with the yarn. I think it’s great that you stuck with it.

And of course congratulations on using / learning the waffle pattern for the dishcloths. It’s great that you also worked on even more projects:
I copied this section.
***
- 2 laundry nets, 5 pads. (Thanks and picture to author )
- a few jars of mirabelle jam are handmade too, after all.
***
--> I think it’s great that you gave the author feedback / thanks / a picture.
Yes, making jam counts as handmade too.

Keep it up. Of course there are extra points for the photos and for the fact that many of your handmade items were given as gifts.

Haekeltrulla is a winner and has won

Congratulations on the title Yarn Emperor/Empress for sticking with the yarn diet in August. If you keep going, and I assume you will, at the end of October I will congratulate you not only on reaching the final round for world domination, but also the final round for dominion over this galaxy / the Milky Way. And as soon as you have made it to 1/1/2019 with a year without buying yarn, I will also give you an award for that. You can do it. Keep going. Wishing you continued success.

Krea_Tina is a winner and has won

It’s great that you’re joining in now too.
Congratulations on the well-deserved title of Shopping Queen in August. Crochet thread, cotton yarn, large and small gradient cakes, and reduced-price yarn - that title is worth it. :- )
Have fun working it up. It’s wonderful that yarn makes you happy.

Congratulations on learning new crafting techniques / making 3D cards. Feel free to post pictures of them; everyone starts small. Maybe your pictures will motivate other users to learn this technique. Then I’ll award you the title “Motivational Coach.” :- )

It’s great that you were able to do lots of crafting in the garden. At the moment the weather isn’t really suitable for that. Congratulations also on the finished Möbius. August is only truly over after the award ceremony has ended. That definitely still counts. And of course congratulations on the finished elephant bag.
Keep it up. :- )

mifas is a winner and has won

Congratulations on the title Shopping Queen. It’s great that you had fun shopping.
Your two women’s tops turned out really great too. There are extra points for the photos. September is sure to bring you lots of crafting fun with the UFO completion and the two other projects.

Mowi19 is a winner and has won

Extra points for the photos and of course extra points because the handmade items are being given as gifts, as promised. :- )
Congratulations on being UFO Queen for your granddaughter’s kindergarten bag and the two scarves made from leftover yarn. That also qualified you for Best of Leftovers right away.
Congratulations on the title Shopping Queen for a total of 70 balls of merino yarn and cotton. That title is definitely worth it. :- )
Congratulations also on the newly learned techniques and the newly learned patterns.
And of course congratulations on being a rescuer of stepchild yarn / unloved yarn. Giving it to someone who can use it also counts as rescuing.
It’s lovely that you were able to spend lots of time in the garden / on the terrace.

-->You listed some projects that you started but haven’t finished yet. I can’t award any titles for those at the moment. Projects that are not finished yet can’t be included here in the August award ceremony, but they can be included in the award ceremony
for September, as soon as they are finished.

Nadeleule is a winner and has won

Congratulations on the title Best of Leftovers, which you absolutely earned for using lots of leftover yarn for the hedgehog in the leaf pile and for the summer top.
The title Frogging Monster Conqueror for the summer top, since it was partly frogged and reworked. As soon as the blanket is finished, I will also honor you for that with the title Frogging Monster Conqueror.
I wish you much success with selling the Hedgehog in the Leaf Pile pattern. :- )

Sofis-Welt is a winner and has won.

It’s great that you are joining in too. Congratulations on the title UFO King/Queen for the black dress, which had been a UFO since April. You truly earned it. :- ) The black dress / the black yarn used for it also qualified for the title Best of Leftovers . Congratulations on that as well.
I think it’s great that you learned something new / the popcorn stitches.
So you crafted in the garden, on the balcony, in the meadow, and even with a dog. Wow. That is impressive. :- ) I think it’s great that things went well for you. For September, I hope you have enough time to finish the pants, can spend even more time outside, and of course have lots of success studying for evening school. You can do it.
And of course there are extra points for the photos.

Wollefaden is a winner and has won.

As always, you were very diligent. I think that’s great.
Congratulations on the title Best of Leftovers for using lots of colorful leftover yarn to make baby shoes, a sweater, Mel’s cute hedgehog in the leaf pile, and the little horse. Wonderfully done. :- )

Congratulations on being Yarn Emperor/Empress, since there were no yarn purchases in August. Keep going so that at the end of October, in addition to the final round for world domination, you’ll also be in the final round for dominion over this galaxy / the Milky Way, and in December you’ll receive the title Inner Slacker Conqueror for one year without buying yarn. You have shown remarkable perseverance and you will manage it. I have no doubt.
I think it’s great that you turned 6 kilos of plums into jam. Then in winter you’ll have a little preserved summer from a jam jar.

The number of projects you finished in August is impressive. I’ll simply copy that in here again:
  • crocheted 1 pair of baby shoes
  • 1 top made of cotton, knitted lace pattern  and Tunisian crochet
  • 1 hedgehog in a leaf pile, crocheted
  • 3 rocking horses, crocheted
  • 2 little horses, crocheted
Just keep going like this. :- )

Here they are again:

My August projects for the awards ceremony. :-)

  • I’ve already posted the photos
  • Everything I finished this month will be given away.
My UFOs:
  • The kindergarten bag for my granddaughter has finally landed.
  • Plus two scarves knitted from leftover yarn.
  • The baby sweater with the hat is still hanging around as a UFO, but it’ll be finished in September.
New projects started:
  • A hooded hat for my granddaughter
  • A headband for me
Best of the Leftovers:
  • The scarves were knitted from leftover yarn.
  • I chose a special color combination for the headband,
  • as well as for the new beanie, which isn’t finished yet.
Shopping Queen:
  • I’ve stocked up on plenty of yarn: a total of 35 skeins of merino wool and just as many skeins of cotton in various colors. Now I’m well-stocked. :-) Unfortunately, I’ve already put most of the yarn away, but I’ll take photos wherever possible.
  • Oh, and I also conquered the “unraveling monster”: my granddaughter’s hat—I unraveled quite a bit of it and reknit it because I didn’t like how it looked.
  • And of course, I’ve learned some new things again. I’ve picked up a few new knitting techniques and patterns.
  • I don’t have any unloved yarn left—I gave it all away (yay!)—and that made room for my new treasures.
  • I did almost all of my knitting in the garden or on the patio.

Leftover Yarn Champion in August
[ x] In August, I used up lots of colorful leftover yarn / emptied my scrap basket and earned the title of Leftover Yarn Champion.
Details on the leftover yarn projects:
I used about 200 g of bamboo yarn for my summer top (though I also frogged most of it and changed it, with an adjustable back) and lots of leftover sock yarn and cotton yarn for the hedgehogs in the leaf pile.

I’m partly a Ribbelmonster Conqueror, because I had to frog a good 20 rows of my blanket, but those have already been reknit, plus 7 more. Unfortunately, it still isn’t finished.

New: Shopping Queen / King:
[x] In August I only bought urgently needed yarn.
Details:
I bought:
-Crochet thread for a curtain for my mother
-Cotton yarn for the bag for my mother-in-law (better to get twice the amount, because... you want to be on the safe side :))
-4 mini gradient cakes, because my grandma ordered a lightweight hat (and... you need a selection ;))
-2 additional large gradient cakes... You have to treat yourself sometimes.
-Various yarn that was simply great and on sale. (2 skeins pink/white, 3x blue variegated (both cotton), 5 or 6 thicker skeins of acrylic yarn) :) At first it sounds like I didn’t need the yarn... But... If I hadn’t bought it, I would have been unhappy. And that’s why I needed it for my emotional well-being :)

Learned something new in August
[x] I learned something new in August and am therefore a winner. :- )
Details:
-I learned something new in crafting; I made a card where a table basically pops up when you open the card. So, a 3D card :)) (It’s for a gift certificate)
There probably won’t be any pictures of it, because it looks like a child made it :D

End-of-summer updates / garden projects / vacation projects in August / preserved foods / homemade jam, etc.
[x] I worked on / finished one project / several projects in the garden / park / on vacation / with homemade cake / with homemade jam, and I had fun doing it. :-)
Details:
- I worked a lot on my Möbius in the garden.

all August projects
Number of projects finished in August: 3
Number of patterns finished / uploaded in August (for authors only): 0 (Oops :))
Details: Anything else you can think of, you can write down here.
-I finished a Möbius (it was yesterday, but... that’s basically still August. By the end of September I’ll have forgotten it :)) (Pattern and therefore picture to follow)
-I made a birthday card
-I finished the elephant bag :) (Photo to follow in the gallery)

Then I started on a tablecloth for my mom and a door wreath for Anton. Let’s see what I can finish in September.

Josefa, you’ve worded that wonderfully again. Many thanks for the prize-giving! Everything is fine on my end.

I’ll get more finished again in September; I’m already working on it. It’s looking good. :-)

Have a lovely day, everyone! I probably won’t be back online until tomorrow.

Thank you so much, dear Josefa—the awards ceremony is fantastic again! Of course, I’m especially happy about the honorary title “extra-diligent animal caretaker”!
There probably won’t be any UFOs this month, since we’ll be in America at the end of the month. In any case, I’m afraid my crafting will be on the back burner, since I have so many commitments coming up.

After I’d stopped thinking about it, here’s my contribution too ;-)

First, about the new category

Shopping Queen

I’ve significantly stocked up my stash and had fun doing it. :- )

Then I crocheted 2 projects, really in one sitting, using brand-new patterns from Crazypatterns

I also started 2 new projects, which will hopefully be finished in September. Oh, and I produced a UFO, a high-summer piece that I’ll now only crochet on occasionally ;-) . I simply started it too late.
