Halloween / Harvest Festival / Thanksgiving: How do you celebrate them?

Dear users and authors,
How do you celebrate Halloween / Harvest Festival / Thanksgiving , or do you celebrate these holidays / pumpkin festivals at all?
Tell me about it.

I don’t really celebrate them at all.

Since I have step-siblings who were born in the U.S., we sometimes went trick-or-treating on Halloween during my late childhood… But other than that…
My “celebration” consists only of changing the decorations.
I take down the summer stuff and put up the fall stuff.

Where I’m from, though, we have “Kilwi” in October—I’m sure hardly anyone here knows about that :)
We used to always build a big bonfire, and for decorations (I guess we mixed in a bit of Halloween there ;)) we’d also have hollowed-out pumpkins that we carved faces into. 

Thank goodness, not at all (anymore).
Halloween isn’t my thing (I just don’t like orange *laughs*) and somehow it just doesn’t belong in Germany to me—though maybe that’s just because of my age ;-)

And my son is now past the age where he’d go on a “trick-or-treat” tour with friends.

I actually think Harvest Festival is a very nice holiday, and every few years it even draws me—an atheist—into the church (right across the street), because the atmosphere is just so lovely and I still know the songs from my childhood ;-)
