Busy Tuesday: Are the little helpers here?

Dear users, dear authors,
are the hard-working little helpers around, or has the heat slowed you down?
Let me know.

The heat is unbearable without air conditioning—the sun is beating down through the window right next to where I’m sitting—but I’m still hard at work: I’m diligently crocheting away at my summer pants (we have absolutely nothing—and I mean nothing—to do at the office today). I’ll be heading home soon—where I’ll happily continue crocheting in the cool, shady living room.

Right after I finish cleaning the house, I’ll keep crocheting on my summer top—which I’ve unraveled again. Luckily, it’s not as hot here anymore, so it’s quite comfortable. The only place I don’t want to go right now is the garden—there are too many annoying wasps there.

I’m finally done with my unicorn keychains.
We only needed 12 after all. I’ll post a photo in the gallery tonight.

Last night I finally started on my vest.
I’ll be working on that today. My daughters are at the outdoor pool,
and my husband has a guys’ night out today. So I should get a lot of crocheting done today. Though I’ll be doing some laundry in between, too.

My mother-in-law is out walking with Anton right now. I’m about to get back to sewing the crib rail cover.
Ever since we lowered the crib, the old one doesn’t really fit anymore. Now I want to sew around each slat individually and attach snaps. But that’s a lot of work, and so far I haven’t really felt like doing it.  

It feels like fall to me right now—but only when I’m crocheting.
Despite the heat, I’ve already crocheted lots of colorful leaves. It’s so much fun—I get to really rummage through my scrap bin.

It’s very humid here today at 25 degrees — I’d almost have preferred the heat.
With a bit of luck, I won’t get around to crocheting until this evening.
The apples on our apple tree are ripe, and it’s bearing incredibly well this year. I’ve been harvesting and processing them for days now — I’ve already made apple pie, applesauce, and dried fruit, and over the next few days I want to try making apple jelly and compote.

This morning I picked some blackberries in the woods, which I’ll turn into muffins tomorrow.
I also spotted four buzzards in one spot, three hornets, a few butterflies, bumblebees, and birds.

I’m working on the second section of the tablecloth. This time it’s a smaller granny square.
We’ll see how many granny squares I end up with.

The little craft helpers have the day off today because of the heat! Well, actually, the heat isn’t really to blame—you can read about the reasons in the weather and weekly plans thread!

The unicorns turned out so cute. It looks like a real fiddly job. Have fun with the vest!

Yes, it really was a lot of work, and because of the hot weather it didn’t go
well for me at all. I was really close to despairing.
I’m really glad they’re finally finished.
The birthday can come now.

The unicorns are really great! So many of them side by side—it looks so colorful and cheerful, and it’s a decoration in its own right.
