what materials, aside from cotton, are manageable in this heat?
Are there any techniques that are more comfortable in this heat than, for example, crocheting a cozy blanket?

I’m currently using bamboo yarn—it’s nice and cool and soft. It’s definitely more comfortable to work with than the thick yarn I’m using for my cozy blanket :D

I like to knit with cotton and linen in the summer.
Of course, lace yarn with silk works best—it’s never too hot for that.
But even if the yarn has a high bamboo content, it’s still comfortable to knit with.

I knit and crochet year-round with yarn that’s 50% cotton and 50% acrylic.
Whether it feels pleasantly cool or warm to me depends on the number of strands.
The more strands, the warmer it is.
