Dear users, dear authors,
how are you all doing? What have you been up to?
Did you have a nice weekend? What are your plans?
Let me know.

I’m waiting, because anything can happen at any moment. My daughter is coming from Vienna today to say goodbye to her grandfather. He might pull through one more time, but things aren’t going to get any better. It’s really just a matter of time now. I’ve been on pins and needles for days, hoping that it will be painless for him.

With this warm weather, I’m not getting much done, Josefa. The yarn sticks to my hands, so I’m making slow progress. That means the housework has to wait, too—which I don’t mind one bit :-)

On the other hand, I’ve already got some great ideas for Christmas swirling around in my head.

In any case, I’m definitely going for a swim tonight.

Best wishes, Diana

Dear Ida, just know that I’m sending you a big hug ((( )))

I’m so hot that I don’t really feel like doing anything, not even crafts. That’s saying something. Right now, I’m only knitting and crocheting in the evenings.

Stay strong, Iglinz.

I’m working on my big tablecloth project.
I might head out to my balcony later, when it’s not so hot anymore.

I’m currently trying my hand at making round glass coasters. But they always end up rippling. I’ve already unraveled them 3 times. ... Maybe that’s normal??? I’m going to try again now. Otherwise, I’ll try blocking them.

Sandra, you probably picked up too many stitches.

I’m out in the garden in the shade, continuing to crochet my tunic.

Arni, if they’re just slightly curved upward, it’s not a big deal—they’ll flatten out on their own—but if they’re wavy, try using a smaller needle. By the way, I’ve written a pattern for mine.

Oh, I hadn’t seen your pattern. The author I downloaded the free pattern from wrote that it turns out better after blocking, or alternatively with spray starch. But I don’t think I want to use spray starch, since Anton will definitely put the coasters in his mouth.

But they’re only curling up slightly.

First, dampen it a little and smooth it out with your hand. That worked for me. I hope it works out for you, too. I wouldn’t use spray starch for that either.

Well, Sandra, how are things going with the coasters?

The first two are finished and flat. The other four still need to be blocked. My husband thinks they’re practical but ugly; Anton figured out that they’re great for pulling on when there are glasses on top, and he likes the way they taste, too. :-)))
I think they’re okay. But that’s about it.
