(Click the image to
purchase/download)
For this
easy-to-knit baby traditional-style cardigan, you need approx. 100 g of 4-ply sock yarn, e.g. Zimba Top by Schoeller+Stahl in classic traditional grey, plus 50 g (or leftover yarn) of 4-ply Regia for the
border, knitted in traditional green; use size 3.0 knitting needles, and if needed, a size 3–3.5 crochet hook for the decorative foundation chain on the placket.
The
PDF pattern contains 15 images.
Included as a bonus in the download: the simple version of my
Excel spreadsheet for quickly converting your gauge to your desired size (applicable to all knitted/crocheted pieces; a spreadsheet program is required, e.g. Excel or LibreOffice, the latter available free online).
Basic knitting skills are assumed (i.e. these steps are not illustrated).
Required knitting skills: casting on, knit stitches, binding off, increasing stitches (from the strand between stitches), yarn over (for the buttonholes), knitting 2 stitches together.
By the way: This jacket can also be knitted
as a vest without sleeves (in that case, crochet around the armholes once in green using single crochet).
