Dear users, dear authors,
how do you handle this?
Tell me about it.

Of course—I do it all the time. I like watching discussions where random people weigh in on all kinds of topics. I take a quick look to see what they look like, and then I mostly just listen. It gets trickier when a goal is scored during the World Cup, but then there’s always slow-motion replay afterward :-)

Of course it does :) I actually do that all the time—I'm usually watching some TV series.

Sometimes, especially with a more complicated pattern, I only happen to notice what the people behind the voices look like after about half a season—but oh well :D Audiobooks would be an alternative, of course.

Hi,

we usually have the TV on when I’m crocheting.
But more often in the winter, since we’re usually in the garden during the summer.

It works really well. I can see my crochet project and hear the TV.
Division of labor...

Best regards, Heike

Watching TV without doing crafts? That would be such a waste of time! Knitting usually works better than crocheting, but often all it takes is a quick glance at the screen every now and then!

Always!
We always watch TV in the evenings, and for some projects, I crochet or knit almost without looking.
For more complicated projects, though, it’s more like listening to a radio play.
If I’m doing crafts in the afternoon, I usually leave the TV off and enjoy the peace and quiet (while it lasts).

Of course it’s possible—I almost never watch TV without doing some crafts. Evenings in front of the TV are the only time of day when I can do crafts, so I make the most of that time :-)

If the movie is a bit more exciting, I like to work on projects with simple patterns that don’t require much counting and that I can crochet almost without looking. I save the more difficult projects for “boring” movies.

For me, watching TV and crocheting go hand in hand—if I don’t have my crochet project with me, something’s really missing!

I couldn’t agree more. I’d also see it as a waste of time if I weren’t doing anything else on the side.
Most of the time, my husband or the kids pick what we watch. Depending on the movie, I then decide what to crochet or knit.

But for me, too, it’s only in the evening. During the day, if I have time to crochet, I much prefer to sit outside in the gazebo or on the balcony.

I can’t watch TV without knitting or crocheting either. Since I love watching music shows, it works out great. I can even knit by feel when the patterns are simple.

When watching romantic movies, for example, I often glance up now and then, especially when there are beautiful nature shots.

We often sit together in the evenings, with some nice music playing—or sometimes an audiobook—chatting while I knit. On those lovely summer evenings, of course, we prefer to sit outside.

Since I haven’t owned a TV for quite some time, I only know this from back in the day. But back then, I usually fell asleep in front of the TV. Now I enjoy the peace and quiet while I do my crafts. Since my days are usually pretty noisy and stressful, the quiet is really pleasant and relaxing.
