Espadrilles are totally on trend this summer—even the ones with ankle lacing

Check these out—they’re such classic summer shoes that you can only wear when the weather’s nice, made of lightweight fabric with a jute sole
They’re always in style from time to time in the summer, but this year there’s clearly a real hype around them.

When you’re browsing through fashion sites, you see these shoes over and over again. I also saw some earlier in the CP store—apparently, the espadrille trend has caught on in the DIY scene as well

I thought espadrilles were in style almost every summer.

I’ve never worn anything like that before. Don’t you slide around in them quite a bit?
Or are they not really meant to be worn on the street?
