The world underwater is colorful and mysterious. Here I’ll show you a few crochet patterns you can use to conjure up your very own underwater world:
Wonderful Shells
can be found on the ocean floor. You can crochet three different kinds from colorful leftover yarn with a color gradient or in pastel colors. Almost any yarn that isn’t too fluffy will work well for this.
Hippy the Seahorse
swims around the shells and lets the current carry him along. He is crocheted from sock yarn with a color gradient and glitter thread and will be about 24 cm tall.

Marina the Mermaid
is Hippy’s best friend and about 40 cm tall. Her fishtail also sparkles in shades of turquoise. Marina has covered her chest with two shells, and water lily blossoms adorn her long blue hair.
Lily the Flamingo Lady
mostly stays in the shallow water near the shore and occasionally snacks on the red crabs that make her plumage such a pretty pink. You can crochet her very quickly and easily from a few bits of leftover yarn in pink.
Little Bully the Elephant
also ventures into the water, even though he can’t swim very well. But he really wants to try out his new sailboat. To make sure nothing happens to him, his mom has impressed on him that he must always wear his swim ring. Bully will be about 22 cm tall if you crochet him from fluffy yarn as shown in the picture (there are tips for this in the pattern). But you can also use any other yarn.
