May is going maritime too
New in my shop stjerne61

Smutjes Potholders / Tunisian crochet

In a classic blue-and-white style, these potholders are a maritime eye-catcher in your galley.

The anchor is crocheted directly in Tunisian simple stitch; the pattern includes a practice section, or you can go straight to my blog "Tunisian crochet for beginners".

As always, the pattern is written in a beginner-friendly way without abbreviations.

Football Doily Crochet Pattern

This is definitely an absolute eye-catcher. Your friends will be thrilled.
A must-have for all football fans, young or old.

The doily will be approximately 45.0 cm wide and 65.0 cm long.
If you would like it to be a little larger, you can simply use thicker yarn, or even better, just crochet a few more individual pieces. This doily consists of several individual pieces, which are then sewn together and edged.

The doily is described in detail by me in a multi-page pattern, and many pictures are intended to make it easier for beginners to follow along. If you need help, I’ll be very happy to assist you.

Material
  • Drops Cotton Light (white & black)
  • Crochet hook 4.0 (or as desired)
  • Sewing needle/darning needle
  • Scissors
What is crocheted
  • chain stitch
  • turning chain
  • stitch
  • double crochet
  • slip stitch
  • crochet in rounds
  • crochet in back-and-forth rounds
Have fun!

In May, the garden and meadows tempt us to pick flowers.....

Crochet pattern for a summer vase. Any glass jar will work—whether it’s for pickles, honey, or mayonnaise.

In the pattern, I’ve described, row by row, how to crochet around a jar with a diameter of 30 cm. The pattern is explained both as a crochet chart and in written row-by-row instructions with plenty of pictures. Click here for my pattern

Hippy the seahorse is a particularly iridescent and colorful sea creature. Crochet it as a unique stuffed animal or as a maritime decoration. Together with a few seashells, a net, or some sand, it’s sure to be an eye-catcher anywhere.

Hippy measures about 24 cm. Its body contains a wire so that the tail curls nicely. Using colorful sock yarn creates a great color gradient. The bright crest was crocheted from leftover sponge yarn, but you can also use fringed yarn.

This casual jacket / soul warmer - light and airy for spring and summer is beautiful and comfortable. Whether with a short top or a long-sleeved shirt, with jeans or sweatpants, at home, at a garden party, or in a beer garden - this fashionable basic piece always fits. Just
slip it on and feel good.

The pattern is simple and works up quickly. Since the basic pattern is worked only into chain-stitch arches, you can easily make the soul warmer while watching TV or chatting over coffee.

Here’s the pattern

Luki the Lion wants to cuddle in May, too.

This cute little guy invites girls and boys to play and cuddle with him. Using the yarn and hook size I used, he’s about 20 cm tall.
I used 100% cotton (e.g., Schachenmayr Catania) with a yardage of 125 m/50 g and a 2.5 mm hook. Basic knowledge of single crochet stitches, as well as increases and decreases, is recommended but will still be briefly explained in this pattern. This pattern is therefore suitable for both beginners and experienced crocheters.

Click here for Luki’s pattern. Have fun!

Here’s some new gift packaging for your gifts: a gift bag that’s so beautifully colorful, you definitely won’t be able to miss it.

The bag is made from cardstock and measures approximately 19 x 18.5 x 8 cm. Thanks to several reinforcing elements, it’s particularly sturdy, so it can hold even slightly heavier gifts. The bag is very easy to make and is well-suited for beginners.

For the shawl called "Mystic Candy" the patterns themselves are kept rather simple, so the border can really stand out.

With a wingspan of approx. 2.05 m and a depth of 0.90 m (blocked and made with hook size 3.5), it is a lovely size for a triangular shawl.

Click here to go to the pattern:

Required materials:
  • A 4-ply plied gradient yarn with a total yardage of approx. 1150 m was used here; of course, you can also make it with other yarns/wool
  • Any crochet hook suitable for the yarn (here size 3.5)

My new knitting pattern can be used as a wide scarf or rectangular stole. A lace pattern that depicts flowers adds variety while knitting. The pattern is written out row by row and also shown in a knitting chart.

You can find it here.
