Crochet: Tips and Tricks

Dear users and authors,
do you have any tips and tricks on crocheting that you’d like to share here? I’m looking forward to hearing them.

I recently saw a brilliant trick online showing how one woman counts her rows / rounds :)

First, you check how many rows/rounds you still need to crochet using the same pattern, then you take exactly that number of gummy bears, pieces of chocolate, or whatever you like.
Finish a row/round --> Eat one.
When everything is gone, you’re done ;)

Maybe not so great for your figure in the long run, but I thought it was really funny.

That’s a great idea if you’re crocheting on your own—my sons, or rather my husband, would make sure I always crocheted far too few rows *laughs*
