Dear users, dear authors,
the week is over. What are you up to? How are you doing?
Have a great weekend. :-)

With this gorgeous weather, it’s definitely time for some gardening.

I bought a bunch of herbs, and I need to plant them tomorrow.

After that, I’ll sit out in my beautiful garden with a glass of wine, my knitting needles, and a good idea—then everything’s just right :-)

I wish everyone a wonderful weekend

Best regards,
Birgit

I put my needle away for a change today and let my tattoo artist and his needles do the work instead. I’m one step closer to my goal. :-)

Here’s a picture from my phone.

Hey...

I think that tattoo is cool, too.

My weekend will probably be pretty laid-back. I think I need to get back out in the garden... or go shopping :-)
And now it’s time to crochet. I’m off duty with Anton now; my husband is back from a 3-day business trip, and now the two of them need to cuddle.

@Arni & @Birgit

Thank you so much. It’s my most personal tattoo and will mean the most to me once it’s finally finished. I’m still going to add four loose feathers with my grandparents’ birth and death dates. The eagle has great symbolic significance in our family.

Best regards

I’m too old for that sort of thing :-)

But my sons and my oldest grandson have tattoos—I think they’re beautiful.

And when they have that kind of meaning, I think that’s really powerful.

Best regards

Birgit

My grandpa turned 80 this week. So I’m going to take my husband and my two kids (ages 3 and 5) and head over there with my parents. We’re planning to have a nice, relaxed meal and then get some fresh air.

@Birgit We don’t have a garden, but we’ve already done some gardening. For example, last week we sowed a grass head with chives using my old stockings.

Yesterday I was in town to visit my dad. If it’s true, he’ll be moving into a retirement home next week. That’s a huge weight off my mind.
It was so hot in the concrete jungle, I thought I was going to melt. Today I’ll probably find a shady spot on the balcony.

Yesterday we went to the zoo.
That’s where this snapshot was taken:

The rest of the weekend will be spent tidying up and knitting.

I’ve already done my gardening — I got it done early this morning. Now I’m just finishing up a pattern, and then I’m heading out to the garden to knit.

Right now I’ve got two UFOs on the go, which I actually didn’t want. But the new project is calling so loudly that I just can’t let go of it.

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend in the sun!

Yesterday we enjoyed the beautiful weather.
I’m about to go shopping, and then I’ll get back to writing the pattern and maybe continue knitting my jacket.
I’ll probably move that to the garden too—that way I can catch a little sun and stock up on vitamin D3 :)
My family is out and about today, so I have plenty of time to myself.

I’m currently busy with my windowsill garden: The little tomatoes and cucumbers need to be spaced out, and with the big cucumbers, I have to make sure they climb their own stakes and don’t take over their neighbor’s. One big tomato is already blooming, so I have to check it every day for new flowers and shake them to help with pollination. Oh, and all of this needs to be watered twice a day now. But I also have herbs that need watering. So there’s plenty to do.
Today I also took photos of my new boxes and will get them ready for sale by next week. I’m also working on several other projects, including making a bowl using a papier-mâché technique.
The day before yesterday, I received a new food delivery from Alnatura, so I have some new containers to store my various craft projects in—I’ll be working on that, too.
And I’m really enjoying being able to do all this with the windows open :-).

I’ve been working in the garden for over 5 hours now, and I’ve earned a break on the patio.
There—you won’t believe it—I’m knitting a scarf!!!!

@Petra
That’s wonderful!
I just looked through your patterns—you really don’t have any scarves! Is that even possible? Especially when it feels like the whole world is knitting or crocheting scarves :-)?

Huh. .......
No scarves? I do think there are patterns for scarves.
It’s just hard to believe anyone would be making a scarf with these temperatures. :-)

Yes, I have scarves for kids, but none for adults. I’m knitting with a yarn that’s as light as a feather. It’s working out pretty well.

I’m enjoying my weekend in my apartment.
Outside, the sun is shining; it’s simply wonderful - but the birch pollen is bothering me so much that I don’t want to go outside at all.

Oh well, I’ve known this since my youth - but it’s just as annoying every year :-(
Great weather => hay fever. But this period is foreseeable.

So I’m using the time to continue crocheting on my unfinished projects.

And I think we’re going to have a great summer this year too. Then I’ll still be able to enjoy the sun outside plenty.

Best regards, Petra

@stjerne @petra,
those are exactly the scarves I was talking about—for tall people :-).
