Simple knitting pattern with impact:

Summer Top, Quick to Knit

(To purchase/download, please click the image)

This easy-to-knit summer model, size 38/40, is made from 250 g cotton blend yarn for needle size 3.5 - 4.0, 50 g - 125 m.

The PDF pattern includes pictures.

The finished top has a stretchy back width of approx. 44 cm and is approx. 65 cm long, but it also looks pretty shorter. Because of the simple pattern (made of yarn overs, knit and purl stitches) and cut, this piece can be easily adjusted to any size.

Colorful stripes in your chosen colors:

Knitting pattern for a striped cotton short-sleeved cardigan

(Please click the image to purchase/download)

..ideal for transitional seasons and summer evenings..

The PDF pattern is illustrated across 23 pages.

These knitting skills are required:
casting on stitches, knit and purl stitches, knitting stitches together, yarn over, emphasized decreases, and increases from the strand between stitches (explained with pictures).

We need
in total for sizes S to L approx. 450 g Catania (Schachenmayr) or Limone (Schoeller Stahl), 100% mercerized cotton, label information: 50 g – 125 m yarn length, needle size 2.5 – 3.5,
gauge: 26 sts x 36 rows = 10 x 10 cm here with the following color distribution:

  • Blue 100 g
  • White 100 g
  • Dark green 150 g
  • Light green 100 g
Depending on the size, more or less leftover yarn will remain from each skein.

I used: knitting needle size 3.5, 3 stitch holders and 1 cable to hold the stitches, stitch markers and row counter (not absolutely necessary)

Who says knitted pieces can’t be elegant?
Far from it! This long top is the perfect companion for any candlelight dinner or visit to the opera!

The pattern is kept simple, but the special cut and the slit at the back create the effect!

This pattern is designed for sizes 36/38 and 40/42.
However, the included cut and gauge make it possible to make any size!

A detailed chart also guides you through joining the back and front pieces.

And here’s the pattern and more details...

Knitting Pattern: “Violetta” Loop - with crochet edging

(Please click on the image to purchase/download )

This reversible loop is quick to knit over a weekend.

Finished measurements: approx. 156 cm circumference x 32 cm (rolls up). You can also stretch it out to use as a shoulder warmer.

Wearable in all seasons, it can be worn once, twice, or three times around the neck and pairs well with the “Violetta” hat and “Violetta” bag.

Required skills
  • Knitting skills: casting on, knit stitches, knitting in the round with circular needles
  • Crochet skills: chain stitches, single crochet, slip stitches (needed for the final, crucial round)
The PDF pattern includes illustrations. Difficulty level: fairly easy.

Materials:
100 g Catania (Schachenmayr) or Limone (Austermann), 100% cotton, 50 g – 125 m for needle sizes 2.5–3.5;
here, a size 8.0 circular needle (because of the double strand) with an 80 cm cable was used;
Gauge according to the label: 26 sts x 36 rows = 10 x 10 cm
[Note: Yarn that tends to snag, such as mohair, is not suitable for this project];
stitch markers, a wool needle for weaving in ends, a measuring tape, scissors, and a size 6.0 crochet hook
