Things are so-so. Unfortunately, I have way too little time for all the ideas I have.
Last night I even let out a sigh so loud that my husband looked up. I was looking at patterns and thought to myself, there just aren’t enough hours in the day for everything I’d like to do.
So it would be doable, but when you also have a full-time job, kids, and a household to manage, there really isn’t much time left.
Enough complaining!
I’ve almost finished the shawl for my friend’s birthday. I’ve started my summer shawl, and the week after next I’m on vacation—that’s when I’ll make the sheep for my son that he drew himself.
Health-wise, we’re all doing well. As always, that’s the most important thing to me.
We can already start the very first tasks in the garden. But since it’s supposed to get really cold this weekend, we’ll just tidy things up a bit.
I’m feeling great today!
The sun is shining, and I was outside a little while ago doing some light cleaning. I cut back the dry lavender despite the frost warning so the tulips and daffodils growing there can peek out too ;)
Then, while I was busy in the front yard, the mail carrier came by and brought me two skeins of colorful cotton yarn.
Well, what can I say—it’s just been a pretty good day!
I hope everyone else is doing well, too!
Best wishes, Mel
I’m doing pretty well right now. I’m crocheting my granny skirt, which is gradually taking shape. My Easter baskets also got finished today. It’s gotten cold again here today, and there’s a strong wind blowing. I really don’t feel like going outside, so I can enjoy myself with my yarn. Actually, I almost feel a little guilty because I also have to study Latin vocabulary for the continuing education course I’m currently taking. But I’d rather do my crafts.
It’s so nice to get cozy in the living room with a hot cup of coffee, a few treats, and my crochet hooks... Besides, no one’s home right now, so I have to take advantage of this chance to lose myself in my crocheting in peace.
Earlier, I rummaged through my yarn stash for my next crochet project. It’s going to be a Tunisian summer sweater—I’m really looking forward to it.
The sun inspired me to clean up the balcony. And I had to check on my overwintered plants. All but one made it.
But my orchids had scale insects on them. Another problem to deal with.
Ida, I hope a solution—or a good place in a care home for your mother—is found very soon. I wish everyone else a magical day today and plenty of time for crafting in between.
I’m happy that I keep finding time to turn my ideas into yarn projects. My granddaughter’s birthday really inspired me—and, of course, this thread here about leftover yarn, yarn diets, UFOs, and more.
I’m delighted by all the colorful little flowers sprouting in the front yards right now. It’s a highlight of every walk, which helps me get over the fact that it’s still so cold. Oh well, I’ll just use the time to knit and crochet.
I’m feeling much better now: I can admire the first picture of my new grandchild on my phone, and it seems like the mom has recovered a bit, too. Now I have to keep crocheting away at the blanket—I’m planning to add a little cuddly doll and maybe a pair of booties.
Unfortunately, it’s raining again, and it’s supposed to get cold this weekend.
