No, I do want world domination.
But I’ve already been looking at all the things I’ll buy once I have it.
I found a new store with such beautiful yarn cakes. And I’m going to snap some up in April!
No, I haven’t bought anything. I’ve been living off my stash, and have been doing so all year now.
I did buy one skein for my granny blanket, but that doesn’t count—I need it to finish the project.
It’s getting harder for me every day. I’d love to just take a look at what’s out there. I’m sure the shelves are full of summer yarns. But it’s too dangerous for me. I give every yarn store a wide berth.
I’ve already crocheted/knitted 3,900 meters from my stash this year, and there’s still sooooo much scattered all over the house.
I’m being so good :-) We’re in Rostock right now, and I saw a fantastic yarn shop… but I didn’t buy anything.
I want world domination, after all. My husband was also surprised that I didn’t haul out any big bags.
Wow, Arni, pat on the back! :-) :-) I probably wouldn’t have even gone into the store right now because the temptation is too great.
I’m sticking with the “Yarn Diet” too, at least until the end of April, and it’s getting easier and easier for me. I’ve got everything I need in stock for my current and future projects anyway. And it’s really fun to finally get all that beautiful yarn worked up.
What I think is great is that several of us are doing this together. It’s really easy to stick with it when we’re in it together. And once we’ve achieved world domination (grin… over ourselves), we’ll reward ourselves with a yarn-buying spree. :-) Just thinking about it makes me happy.
I was very good today and managed to resist, despite the new, sneaky sales tactic:
the yarn was set up right at the checkout area!!!
Just imagine how mean it is when you’re standing in that loooong line and have to spend the whole time waiting staring at that gorgeous yarn... but I’m determined to stick with it...grin.
Ida, you’ve put a smile on my face. :-)
That’s such a lovely phrase: “wool-buying frenzy”...
I’m just remembering what that feels like.
But no, of course I want world domination (over myself) too, just like everyone else who’s sticking to it.
Oh yeah, Marlies, that’s really mean. I don’t even want to imagine what it’s like to be standing NEXT to that amazing yarn at the register. Oh no!
All the more reason to give yourself a pat on the back for sticking it out. Suuuuper!!
The reward will come at the end of April or beginning of May with the yarn-buying frenzy! :-)
Well, not today, but we were in Wuppertal two weeks ago because my husband wanted to go to a record shop. And who would’ve guessed it: on the way from the car to the record shop, I spotted a yarn store... I just called out to my husband, “Pick me up here later,” and disappeared into the store... hehe. Loot: two skeins from Zitron—one Yak and one something-or-other in a great color. They’ve been sitting on the shelf ever since, right there in plain sight and within easy reach. Until I figure out what they’re going to become. The better the yarn, the longer it sits there. Sounds crazy, but some yarn is almost too good to use... haha
Greetings, Caro
Yes, two skeins of Baby Cotton for a comfort blanket, since I don’t have the colors I wanted. The baby was born on Saturday. It soon became clear that world domination wasn’t going to happen: Babies are, of course, more important and shouldn’t have to wait too long for their gifts!
I’m finding it tough, since I always have those beautiful yarns right in front of me.
But so far, I’m sticking with it and finishing up all the projects I’ve started.
It feels great when one project after another gets finished.
