Dear users, dear authors,
what are you up to? What’s on your mind? What’s on your knitting needles, crochet hooks, sewing needle, or craft scissors?
Let me know.
I’m currently working hard on a whole bunch of different things at once.
I’m crocheting on my car seats, and yesterday I dug out my long-term project again—the blanket for my daughter. I’m almost halfway done now, and you can already tell that there’s going to be a horse on the blanket at some point.
Then I started a new shawl. This time, it’s for me. But since the colors are totally out of character for me, I can’t say yet whether I’ll actually keep the finished piece. They just looked so beautiful in the picture, and they’re even more beautiful in real life. They totally remind me of forests and rocks—vacations in the mountains or walks in the woods.
Otherwise, everything’s going great. The kids are on vacation and are at home with my husband.
Today, my daughter gets to ride with the older kids in the big group for the first time; until now, she’s always had lunge lessons. We’re all really excited to see how she likes it.
A tunic—pattern from here—still needs a crocheted edging around the neckline. I’ve already started crocheting the next tunic/sweater (also from CP).
The yarn I reordered for a giant unfinished cowl (also a CP pattern) arrived yesterday (I reordered it here in the store on December 30), so I’ll finish that over the next few days.
And I have to undo the bind-off on my knitted shawl (also from here) and would like to add a few more rounds. I’ll need a good day for that, because there are plenty of stitches and I knit pretty tightly...
I just baked my bread—it’ll last a month—one less thing to worry about :-).
Now I’m going to do some yoga, then it’s time for lunch. After that, I have a few household chores to take care of, and only then can I continue working on the patterns—as a reward, so to speak :-).
A tea light with little hearts is finished; now I just need to put together the pattern for it. Other than that, I have several craft projects in the works again—most of them quite colorful, which really lifts my spirits. Actually, I’m hoping spring will arrive soon—it’s very cold here, and I really don’t like the cold.
But the sun is shining today, so that’s a good start :-).
For the first time in months, I’ve had a day without even a single sale. I’m feeling a bit down.
BUT I’m keeping at it, because I’ve got several projects in the works. I just need to finish a few things—if only new ideas weren’t constantly popping up. I’ve got a lot on my plate right now, so I need a change of pace, but to finish these individual projects (2 jackets, a sweater, a bag...), I’d have to do some monotonous work—BUT I just don’t feel like it right now!!! Darn!!!
Hey motivation, where are you??? Well, I’m sure I’ll find it again soon.
My book on Celtic cable patterns arrived yesterday. Now I’m a bit torn—should I finish the Tunisian crochet project first (which I still don’t know what it’s going to be), or should I try out the new patterns??? Actually, I’m usually against leaving projects unfinished....
