These cute little gnomes can also be crocheted very well from leftover yarn. They’re happy to be colorful. That makes them useful for lots of utensils, and they also look great on the breakfast table as egg cozies.

Here’s the crochet pattern for the gnome family.

Egg cozies are always great for using up leftovers. Plus, Easter is coming up soon:

Knitting Pattern Egg Cozy BIGGI - quick and easy

(To purchase/download, please click the image)

Fun egg cozies, not just for Easter! Also an ideal way to use up leftover yarn.

Quick and easy to knit in one TV evening, they make a last-minute little gift for any occasion.

Basic knitting skills are enough.
We knit in the round with a set of double-pointed needles. Decorations can be added as desired and with your own creativity.

Materials:
Basically, any yarn can be used with a slightly smaller needle size than indicated on the label.
1 egg cozy: approx. 10 g–15 g yarn (leftover) + small leftover yarn for decorating; here: set of double-pointed needles size 4.0 and crochet hook approx. 3.0 for “knotting in hair”; yarn needle for weaving in ends, possibly sewing needle and buttons, tape measure, scissors.
Recommendation: embroider the eyes in black if the egg cozies are used for babies/toddlers as amigurumi .

Included in the PDF download:

  • Short instructions in text form, created for yarns with approx. 105 m yardage per 50 g
  • Step-by-step illustrated pattern, created for yarns with approx. 85 m yardage per 50 g
each knitted with a set of double-pointed needles size 4.0 (then the egg cozies turn out nice and dense and stand up on their own)

  • Photo tutorial “Embroidering in duplicate stitch
  • Photo tutorial “Knotting in hair with a crochet hook"
  • Separate PDF pattern for the “double long-tail cast-on

Potholders are also wonderful for using up leftover yarn:

Potholders “It’s So Green” - Tunisian crochet

(Please click the image to purchase/download)

A touch of fresh spring green as kitchen décor or for real use as a potholder made of 100% cotton – a useful little gift for all kinds of occasions.

Both the PDF pattern for the potholder and the pattern for the crochet flower(s) are illustrated step by step.

Materials
:
For 1 standard-size potholder, 21 cm x 21 cm:
50 g light green + 50 g dark green crochet yarn (or leftover yarn) made of 100% cotton/plant fiber for heat resistance, e.g. Schoeller+Stahl Record 210, 50 g - 90 m, according to the label 16 sts x 24 rows = 10 x 10 cm), so 50 g per color for the Tunisian crochet hook up to a maximum size of 4.5.

For the flower(s), a leftover bit of cotton yarn is enough, e.g. Catania (Schachenmayr) or Limone (Schoeller+Stahl), for crochet hook size 2.5 - 3.5.

Basic crochet skills are sufficient; the Tunisian crochet technique is explained with pictures.

Small scraps of winter yarn are perfect for crocheting doll clothes. Here’s a pattern for a sweater and pants for Barbie dolls. Depending on the type of yarn, the look can be sporty or festive. The pattern is very simple and can be adjusted to be slightly tighter or looser (depending on the thickness of the yarn). Also suitable for crochet beginners!

Decorations/Coasters “Little Snowflakes”
https://www.crazypatterns.net/de/items/34378/deko-untersetzer-kleine-schneeflocken
You don’t need much yarn to make a snowflake, so these can be crocheted from leftover yarn.
The “Little Snowflakes” decorations/coasters, with a diameter of about 10 cm, are perfect for the Christmas season and add a cozy atmosphere. They look lovely on the festive table as coasters for candleholders or can be used as door and window decorations.

These matching wrist warmers were knitted from leftover yarn. They are very easy to knit and are also perfect for beginners with basic skills.

They are worked without a set of double-pointed needles, simply in right side and wrong side rows. The sides are sewn together with mattress stitch—completely invisibly—and the thumb opening is left open. The pattern includes all the individual steps, some with photos.

How about a chubby, round bird of paradise. Pino is a real leftover-yarn buster. With him, you can easily reduce your mountains of leftover yarn.

When finished, Pino will be approx. 32 cm tall (when using the specified hook size and yarn weight). You will receive a detailed 20-page pattern with lots of photos to guide you.
Also suitable for ambitious beginners

You will also need:
  • approx. 200 g leftover yarn (hook size 3–4) in various colors
  • crochet hook size 4.5
  • yarn needle, darning needle
  • stuffing
  • 2 safety eyes, size 12 mm

With this colorful spring set, you can make wonderful use of your leftover yarn. There are no limits to your imagination here, and you’ll instantly bring spring to your table. The pattern includes several variations for the egg cozies. For example, I crocheted the “cheeky boys” for my grandchildren, which you can also see here in the photo. The flower egg cozies are for girls of all ages.

The pattern is suitable for beginners in every respect. However, you should have some basic crocheting skills.

In this pattern, I’ve also made sure that most of the photos are placed on separate pages that don’t need to be printed. Additionally, the pattern is written without abbreviations, which makes it even easier for you to work with.
