Raglan sleeves knitted from the bottom up:

Knitting pattern for a striped cotton short-sleeve cardigan

(To purchase/download, please click the image)

..for any time of year, when it gets a little cooler, a thin turtleneck can also be worn underneath.

The PDF pattern is illustrated across 23 pages.

These knitting skills are needed:
casting on stitches, knit and purl stitches, knitting stitches together, yarn over, emphasized decreases and increases from the bar between stitches (explained with pictures).

We need
in total for sizes S to L approx. 450 g Catania (Schachenmayr) or Limone (Schoeller+Stahl), 100% mercerized cotton, label information: 50 g – 125 m yardage, needle size 2.5 – 3.5, gauge: 26 sts x 36 rows = 10 x 10 cm with the following color distribution:

  • Blue 100 g
  • White 100 g
  • Dark green 150 g
  • Light green 100 g
Depending on the size, more or less leftover yarn will remain from each skein.

Used here: knitting needle size 3.5, 3 stitch holders and 1 cable to put the stitches on hold, stitch marker and row counter (not absolutely necessary), pins for blocking, measuring tape, scissors, yarn needle for weaving in ends.

This cute children’s jacket with a hood and pockets was knitted using the top-down raglan method. The pattern is very simple and is well explained in the pattern, as is every other step. The jacket fits sizes 92–104.

Difficulty level: intermediate - some knitting experience is required.

This women’s cardigan with pockets was knitted using the bottom-up raglan technique. It has almost no seams. Only the pockets are sewn on from the inside on one side. Thanks to the waffle stitch, the cardigan is both stretchy and form-fitting. It fits sizes 38–42.

Difficulty level: intermediate—some knitting experience is required.

Beautiful jacket / vest made from gradient yarn. You can crochet this gorgeous jacket using this pattern. The 13-page pattern explains the process in detail, with pictures to help you along the way. The RVO (Raglan from the Top) technique is explained in detail. The pattern includes both crochet charts and a written description of the rows. Tables help you complete your project, from toddler sizes to women’s jackets. You can crochet this jacket in several variations—with or without sleeves, with a straight cut, or even as a sweater. The jacket shown here in size 36/38 is described in detail, row by row. To crochet this jacket, you’ll need:
  • a size 3.0 crochet hook (if you’re using a different yarn weight, choose a hook size appropriate for the yarn)
  • 2 skeins of Scheepjes Wooly Whirls, 215g = 1000m (100g = 455m) for size S/M (if you want to crochet the jacket in a different size, you’ll need 4 Whirls accordingly). I used the color Kiwi Drizzle; for my size 36/38 jacket, I used two Whirls, working with double strands to make the jacket nice and cozy. Of course, you can also use the regular Whirls or a yarn in your preferred weight. For sizes 40 and up, you’ll need 4 Whirls
  • possibly matching buttons (I used snaps)
  • scissors
  • a similar jacket or top to help you adjust the size if needed
To crochet this jacket, you’ll need to know how to work the following stitches:

Beautiful jacket in size 104–110This little jacket is crocheted with a Scheepjes Whirl, 225 g–1,000 m (100 g–455 m). The 17-page pattern is written in great detail. The top-down raglan (RVO) technique is explained, and a size chart plus the corresponding crochet charts are included in the pattern, so experienced crocheters can also recreate the jacket in their desired size. Size 104/110 is explained row by rowYou’ll need:
  • a Scheepjes Whirl in your desired colorway
  • a size 2 crochet hook (if you use a larger hook, you will of course get a larger jacket too; hook size 3 = approx. size 116/122 ... etc.)
  • buttons
  • scissorsHere is the pattern for the “ANNA” jacket
