Information for the patterns

I think it’s a shame that the pattern description doesn’t include information about yarn weight or needle size. Many people have yarn at home and don’t know whether the pattern is suitable for it. I’ve seen quite a few interesting patterns, but I haven’t ordered any because of this.

you can’t generalize like that!
In most cases, I include in the product description for my patterns which yarn I used and, most importantly, whether other yarns can be used just as well.
And that’s also the case with many other authors here.

And if it’s not listed, just send the author a quick private message—most of us respond quickly and are happy to help!

Sure, there are certainly some patterns without such details, but as Nina already mentioned, often all it takes is a question to the author. In many cases, it’s also worth taking a look at the comments on the pattern, because this question is usually asked there first. 
But I always include the yarn used and the needle size as well.
