Help with the Izzi baby blanket

Hello and good evening, I’m brand new here, but really motivated. I just recently started crocheting (the last time was in third grade—a pot holder????). Today I downloaded the pattern for the Izzi baby blanket here on CP, but unfortunately I’m completely lost. My second child is due in 3 weeks, and I thought I could quickly crochet the blanket by then. I still understand the beginning part with the chain-stitch ring, but then I’m completely lost???? Maybe someone can help me.
