Design Trends 2018 // Fashion Trends 2018

Dear users, dear authors,
on Tuesdays we talk about design and trends. I’d love to know how you think fashion designs will evolve in 2018.

I think large checks will stick around for a while longer, but other large patterns will also be joining them—such as wide stripes, polka dots, and zigzags—all in bold, contrasting colors. That is, if I’m reading the signs of the times correctly :-)

I saw on TV the day before yesterday that flame patterns on clothing are currently in style in New York. Usually, trends like that make their way over to us the following year....

If the pastel colors that have been announced catch on, that would be great. Pastels are my secret favorites, and I listen too often to the people around me who are always saying, “Oh, just go for bolder colors.”

I’ve also read about geometric patterns, and I like those too. But I’d find flame motifs awful; I’d simply sit that trend out.
