Sturdy hanging planters

Hi, everyone! I know this is tricky, but I’m giving it a try here.
I’d like to make a hanging system for my plants. Back in the day, there used to be those macramé cords. Now I have quite a few houseplants that I’d love to hang up. I already have the large (and heavy) planters, so I have an idea floating around in my head, and it’s actually pretty easy.
Where could I find something like that? I’ve been looking for a while.
I was thinking of using sturdy twine (maybe crocheting around a plastic clothesline, like they do with some other baskets). Something like that? Maybe made from packing twine? I’d make something flat, 10–12 cm in diameter. Then, at 4 or 6 points along the desired length, I’d crochet 3–4 double crochet-wide loops. Once the desired length is reached, I’d tie all the loops together at the top. What do you think? Where could I find something like this? Has anyone ever made something like this before, or do you have any other ideas? Thank you so much for your help.

I once saw hanging planters made from textile yarn. I can imagine they’re quite sturdy. 
If you want to make a sturdy basket or tray first, you could maybe try using rattan cane.

Hi Michaela! I hadn’t even thought of textile yarn, but that’s a good idea. I’ll take some time to think it over. I’d only thought of the flat plate as an extra support and was secretly hoping—when I checked my post today—that at least 100 people would have responded saying they have these macramé things lying around in their basements that they want to get rid of.................
