Dear users, dear authors,
are there any techniques you’d like to learn?
Let me know.

Yes, Tunisian crochet. But first I need to get the right equipment (crochet hook).

Oh yeah, I’d love to learn that, too. I actually already have a book at home that explains it in detail.
And I think my mom might even have the right needle. I just never seem to have the time.

How about we start a project? So, in a week, let’s all try out a technique we’ve had our eye on for a long time but never got around to.
Because then I’ll make sure to set aside the time!

Who else would like to join in?

If at all, then not until after Christmas.
We need _at least_ 5–7 participants.

Can I still join in after Christmas, even if I’m already trying it out right now?

I’ve been wanting to learn how to knit for a long time... At least the basics, so I can join in the conversation ;)

My grandma showed me how to do it many, many years ago (when I was 11 or 12 or so), but somehow all I remember is that you hold several needles in your hand :D

Dear Josefa

Nice, then I’ll join in, too. I’ve decided on Tunisian crochet.

Best regards, Marion

Hi Josefa and all newcomers,

We already have quite a bit planned for January; February wouldn’t be a bad idea either. What do you think?

I’d also really like to learn Tunisian crochet properly. I have a whole set of hooks with cords attached, but I don’t have any with two hooks yet...
I’ve tried the basic stitch before, but doing it in two colors or in the round would definitely be exciting too. So I’d be up for it, and February would suit me well.

And one thing I definitely SHOULD learn is sewing...
my daughter just had a run in her favorite leggings and asked me to quickly fix it. Here’s the result of my mending:

Hi Nadeleule

I’m not exactly a whiz at sewing and mending either.
But can’t you just pick up that dropped stitch with a crochet hook and work it back up? Just like you do when a knit stitch drops while knitting?

Best regards, Marion

In principle, yes... but you need a super-thin crochet hook, good eyesight, and a lot of patience!

Thanks, ruthk

Well, I’m just glad I don’t have to darn any leggings.

I’ve never tried Tunisian crochet either, but I’ve had a book on it for quite a while… So I’d be up for a little beginner’s project!

I’m going to toss it at the next opportunity and buy a new one xD
There are just some things I simply don’t need to know how to do, and I’m not patient enough to pick up a dropped stitch...
I already hate fiddling with that thin thread to get it through that tiny needle’s eye.
That’s just not for me xD

I think Tunisian crochet is fun—it’s really enjoyable. What I’d really like to learn is bobbin lace-making. But I think that’s super hard.

To get ready to learn Tunisian crochet, I just borrowed a hook from a dear colleague.
If I like it, I’ll definitely get myself a few in different sizes.

I promised her that she’ll get the first potholder I make with the hook for her kitchen. In orange and gray, since those are the colors she has in her kitchen.

Dear Pe-Ka, I think your arrangement with your friend is great! Unfortunately, I don’t have any friends who do Tunisian crochet (or any kind of crochet at all), and my daughter hasn’t gotten past her first attempts at amigurumi due to a lack of time! At least she’s knitted some socks for the boys (and sewn some great bathrobes)!

Things are going well with Tunisian crochet
Learn Tunisian crochet for free / together it comes easily

Would you like to learn another technique in March?
I would then start a thread for it on March 1.
Or
Would you rather continue with Tunisian crochet in March and also finish the Easter projects? Then perhaps a new technique after Easter? If so, which one?
