Yarn cakes for small projects

Hi everyone

I’ve recently seen patterns now and then that use yarn cakes, but only around 300 m (small cowl, hat, etc.)

But I can’t find yarn cakes that small anywhere... Is there any way I can create a color gradient from my larger yarn cakes for small projects? Probably not, right? All my yarn cakes are around 1,000 m...

So turning a big one into small ones is pretty complicated, since the color gradients are much longer. I (or rather, my husband) have some small Bobbels, but most people don’t buy them because of the extra shipping costs. Feel free to reach out if you need any (I hope it’s okay that I posted this here)

Actually, any decent Bobbel winder can provide any Bobbel size you need.
Of course, shipping usually isn’t worth it for a 300-meter Bobbel. That’s why it makes sense to think carefully about what you need and not order everything separately.

The smallest Bobbels I’ve found so far are the Bobbelinis from Traumgarne.

Well, my yarn cake winder winds everything exactly as I order it. The size of the yarn cakes too, and how long the gradient should be. Though I always leave the gradient up to her; I’ve never regretted it.

Just ask wherever you usually buy. And then maybe order a bit more so the shipping is worth it.
