Egg cozies are a great project to make with leftover yarn.

Egg cozies

Materials:
  • Catania Originals (50 g / 125 m) in various colors
  • Crochet hook size 2.5
  • Scissors

You can also use a different type of yarn and the corresponding crochet hook. This may result in slight variations.

Do you still have leftover yarn in “Christmas colors”? Why not crochet these beautiful Christmas-themed egg cozies? It’s quick and easy, and you’ll have a great decoration for your breakfast table during the holiday season. Angels, snowmen, and Santa Claus also make great little gifts for Secret Santa.

Wonderful for using leftover yarn:

The PDF pattern has plenty of pictures.

All you need is a small amount of leftover yarn, approx. 10 g of a metallic yarn, e.g. used here: Nora Madeira, 25 g – 100 m, 80% viscose, 20% metallized polyester, for crochet hook size 2.5 - 3.0.
But you can also use any yarn you like with a matching crochet hook size. The size of the finished piece will then change according to the yarn. You will also need a size 2.5 crochet hook, scissors, and a yarn needle.

These crochet skills are required:
chain stitches, single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet, treble crochet, slip stitches, crocheting in rows, and crocheting in rounds. The pattern includes link tips for crochet techniques.

Knitting Pattern for an Advent Calendar

This Advent calendar is knitted. You can use up plenty of leftover yarn to make it.
It is knitted in stockinette stitch with a contrasting-color ribbed cuff at the top. You will also need an eyelet row, which is explained in detail, and one cord or ribbon per piece. This makes the Advent calendar suitable even for beginners. A great gift for Advent or the pre-Christmas season.

Needle size is 3.0 (2.5–3.0)

Perfect for recycling leftover yarn

The gift jar is a super-cute little present, whether for an Advent coffee gathering or simply as a nice gift for a preschool teacher, schoolteacher, or similar. Materials: My yarn and color suggestions are just that—suggestions; of course, everyone can do it however they like. For the lid, hat, and scarf, I used Cotton Fun school yarn from Gründl, and for the snowman and fir tree, I used the acrylic yarn “Woll Butt Versailles” from Buttinette. Lid: Cotton Fun in purple and white Snowman: Woll Butt Versailles in white, a small scrap of orange, Cotton Fun in purple, and a small scrap of dark purple, googly eyes/beads, and beads for buttons Fir tree: Woll Butt Versailles in dark green and white; stuffing; decorative beads; and decorative ribbon of your choice. You’ll also need a jar with a screw-on lid; the lid’s diameter should be about 8.5 cm
