Dear users, dear authors,
how’s your crafting going?
How’s the yarn, fabric, and photo cardstock holding up?
What’s the weather like?
Have you had anything good to eat?
How are you all doing?
Let me know.
things are going well here. My thick winter sweater is almost finished; just the cuff left.
I have so many great crochet projects planned that I don’t even know where
to start.
Yeah—the yarn…
that’s a whole other story…
ACTUALLY, I have enough, but I still keep buying more.
The sun is shining here, and tonight I’m going out to a Chinese restaurant with my coworker……
mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmhhhhhhhhhhh.
Over here at home, everyone’s got a scratchy throat. My daughter started it, and she’s very generous with it—now everyone has it.
But as long as it’s just a scratchy throat and a little nose-blowing, it’s all good for everyone.
Yesterday I finally started working on my mom’s Christmas gift. Since I’ve changed my mind three times about what to make her—and the pattern wasn’t quite right each time—I’m really grateful to my coworker, who gave me a fashion tip.
And my daughter has brought out the book with the crochet miniatures again and placed a few orders for her friends.
For now, I have to wait to place my next yarn orders until we’ve drawn names for the “Engerl/Bengerl” at work. I think in Germany it’s called “Wichteln.”
Then I’ll know which yarn cake to get for a shawl. Not all colors suit everyone among my coworkers.
Well, the sun is shining into my office, and I wish everyone a wonderful week!
You won’t believe it, but I didn’t buy a single ball of yarn last week. I’m currently finishing up a crocheted shawl. But I think it’ll take a little while longer because the yarn is so thin and the crochet hook is so small.
The weather is beautiful and sunny, so I’m going to take a walk through the woods later today. Golden autumn is here.
I’m also enjoying the beautiful fall weather right now for bike rides, walks, and picnics in nature.
I’ve got some projects I’ve started that need to be finished—for example, a baby blanket and some new hand and arm warmers. I’ll need those in the evenings when I’m sitting at the computer.
I’ve also got a new project in the planning stages—it’s going to be a hooded jacket for my granddaughter.
I’m doing well, thanks for asking—and how are you, Josefa?
My photo cardstock is doing well, too. I find that material consumption when crafting is actually quite moderate—sometimes months go by before I buy more, and even then, 4–6 sheets are usually enough. My bigger concern is using up scraps: No matter how hard I try to design something specifically for scraps, they hardly ever seem to decrease.
The weather here is sunny, but it’s already too cold for my taste. During the day, when the sun’s on my side, it’s still okay, but in the evening I have to put on a long-sleeved shirt, and I really don’t like doing that.
It’ll be a little while yet before my delicious lunch (around 3 p.m.). Today I’m making baked potatoes and bell peppers—which I’ll marinate briefly beforehand—with pan-fried soy cutlets. I really love this dish, so I’m already looking forward to it.
Here (in Lower Saxony near Celle), the weather isn’t exactly lovely—it’s rather gloomy, but that has to happen sometimes too. That’s why I’m cooking a hearty meal of sauerkraut with smoked pork loin today.
I’m doing okay, aside from the usual aches and pains, and I’m getting ready for a week in Denmark—I’m heading there on October 7.
I’m currently thinking about how to turn a regretted yarn purchase into a project; the nudge for that is the thread “Becoming the Yarn Empress.”
Other than that, I have a few things in the works but haven’t really made much progress on them.
Thanks for asking, Inna.
I’m currently trying to liven up the forum so there’s really something going on here and everyone can have fun. It’s great that you’re all participating. That’s the way to go. :-)
