Dear users, dear designers,
it’s time to unpack the spooky decorations: spiders, ghosts, phantoms, witches, and bats are simply part of Halloween.
Start decorating spooky now.

May I introduce: the most terrifying ghost of all. To keep it from causing too much mischief, it has been knitted into a potholder, where it is trapped—as long as no one sets it free!

This potholder is knitted using the double-face technique, which means the colors on the opposite sides are exactly reversed. What is dark on the front is light on the back.
You’ll need cotton in two colors and knitting needles—possibly a little smaller than recommended for your yarn. The potholder also has a crocheted border. That’s a matter of taste; you can make it or leave it off. If you want to make it, you’ll also need a crochet hook.
The ghost motif is shown in a knitting chart.

Halloween is becoming more and more popular in Germany, and we also decorate our apartments and houses to suit the occasion. Here you get three crochet patterns for really cool Halloween decorations.

This set includes the patterns:

Difficulty level: Medium to difficult 

What you need:

Gründl Happy Anti-Pilling (100% polyester, 100 g = 250 m yardage)

Witch:

• Light green approx. 250 g
• Black approx. 250 g
• Red approx. 100 g
• Purple approx. 20 g
• Brown approx. 50–60 g
• Beige approx. 30–40 g

Frankenstein:

• Green approx. 350–400 g
• Black approx. 80 g
• Gray (leftover)

Witch's kitchen:

• Green approx. 50–60 g
• Black approx. 300 g
• Orange approx. 100 g
• White (leftover)
• Beige approx. 20–30 g

You will also need for the figures:

• Some wire mesh for joints and the parts you would like to stabilize or make movable
• Some white fabric as well as red and black felt pens for the eyes and mouth (possibly yellow too)
• Yellow safety eyes/glue to attach the fabric
• Old children's clothing (preferably black—sweater and pants) size 74/80
• Crochet hooks 3.5 and 6 (for the kitchen cauldron), yarn needle, lots of stuffing

For the pumpkin:

• LED tea light
• Acrylic ball 14 mm diameter + orange acrylic paint

What you need to know:

Magic ring, single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet, increases and decreases, embroidery, sewing together, crocheting in the front and back loop

Halloween absolutely calls for special decorations! Here are 2 suggestions for how you can create a big impact with very little effort.
For the bat fairy lights, all you need is some leftover black and gray yarn, a set of LED fairy lights, and some stuffing. You can then easily crochet the bat yourself.
The two ghost finger puppets are about 11 cm tall and can be used as finger puppets or as table decorations. Here, too, a few bits of leftover yarn are enough to crochet them.

Suitable for advanced crocheters

Required skills:
The pattern does not include a beginner’s tutorial. You should already know how to crochet single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet, treble crochet, post double crochet, as well as chain stitches and slip stitches.

Even ghosts need a home where they can recover from all their spooky roaming. This little house offers plenty of room for a whole ghost flatshare, and even their pets, the bats.


 
The window decoration measures approx. 54 x 34.7 cm, is cut from construction paper and backed with yellow translucent paper. Apart from being confident in handling a scalpel or craft knife, no special prior knowledge is needed.

Crochet Pattern Halloween Knobblys

Let me introduce: the Vampire Cat! A real eye-catcher, especially for Halloween.
It gets even better: you’ll still get plenty of use out of the pattern after Halloween, because you can also use it to crochet a “normal” cat.

You’ll need:

♦ Crochet yarn of your choice in various colors: 1–2 fur colors (approx. 30 g total), outer side of the cape and bow tie (e.g. black, approx. 25 g), inner side of the cape (e.g. red or purple, approx. 20 g), leftover yarn in white and black for the details
♦ A crochet hook to match the yarn
♦ Toy stuffing
♦ Safety eyes (if desired)
♦ A sewing needle

The finished spider measures 13 cm from head to the end of the abdomen.
The legs can be bent however you like and give the tarantula an impressive presence.

• Darning needle for weaving in the ends and sewing on the small pieces
• For the eyes: thin needle, 2 larger and 4 smaller beads
