This shawl has both: stripes and dots! The Potzblitz shawl is a real evergreen of mine, and I’m always amazed at how wonderful the shawl looks in the knitters’ favorite colors. Some have left out the dot bobbles, and that looks great too!
The shawl is quite large, so you can really snuggle up in it. It is knitted in garter stitch from one side to the other. The bobbles are crocheted on afterward, so you don’t have to decide where to place them until the very end.

A checkered hat looks great in winter. Just pick your favorite colors and start knitting.

You can find the pattern here.

The pattern is intended more for experienced knitters, since you have to work with two colors in every round. But the result is well worth it.
The hat comes in four different sizes, and the gingham pattern is shown in a knitting chart.

And since stripes and polka dots are always eye-catching, I’ve got a super-fast and super-easy pattern for you here! If you still have about 150 to 250 grams of yarn with long color runs, you should click over to the pattern right away. This shawl also makes a great Christmas gift!

In this scarf, the stripes are created by the color gradients in the yarn, but they’re also accentuated by the pattern.

You can find the pattern here.

The scarf is knitted with sock yarn and features a distinctive lace pattern, which is explained in a photo tutorial. One 100g skein is definitely enough, unless you want to knit an extra-long scarf.

These socks have a two-color wave pattern, and I’d recommend them more for experienced knitters. You’ll need 4-ply sock yarn in 2 different colors and a 2.5 mm set of double-pointed needles. The pattern is shown in a knitting chart.

You can find the pattern here.

With a turtleneck or long-sleeved shirt underneath, this striped piece is also suitable for winter:

Knitting pattern for a striped short-sleeved cotton jacket

(To purchase/download, please click the image)

Oh yes, stripes are totally on trend. With a top under this comfortable-to-wear short-sleeved cotton jacket, you’ll always be wonderfully dressed.

The PDF pattern is illustrated across 23 pages.

These knitting skills are needed:
casting on stitches, knit and purl stitches, knitting stitches together,
yarn over, emphasized decreases and increases from the strand between stitches (are
explained with pictures).

Used here
in total for sizes S to L approx. 450 g Catania (Schachenmayr) or Limone (Schoeller+Stahl), 100% mercerized
cotton, label information: 50 g – 125 m yardage, needle size 2.5 – 3.5,
gauge: 26 sts x 36 rows = 10 x 10 cm with the following color distribution:

  • Blue 100 g
  • White 100 g
  • Dark green 150 g
  • Light green 100 g
Depending on the size, more or less leftover yarn will remain from each skein.

I used here: knitting needle size 3.5, 3 stitch holders and 1 cable
to hold the stitches, stitch markers and row counter (not
absolutely required), pins for blocking, measuring tape, scissors,
yarn needle for weaving in ends.
