Even when it’s wet and cold outside, you can make your breakfast table cozy and summery with a splash of color. For example, with these egg cups, which look charming even with undyed eggs.

With the exact templates and detailed craft instructions, these egg cups are ready in no time. They’re made from cardstock and are very easy to make, even for beginners.

Knitting pattern for funny BIGGI egg cozies - quick and easy

(To purchase/download, please click the image)

Funny egg cozies, not just for Easter! They’re also an ideal way to use up leftover yarn.

Quick and easy to knit in one evening in front of the TV, they make a last-minute little gift for any occasion.

Basic knitting skills are enough.
We knit in rounds with a set of double-pointed needles. Decorations can be added as desired and according to your own creativity.

Material:
Basically, you can use any yarn with a slightly smaller needle size than indicated on the label. 1 egg cozy: approx. 10 g – 15 g yarn (leftovers) + leftover yarn for decorating; here: set of double-pointed needles size 4.0 and crochet hook approx. 3.0 for “knotting in hair”; yarn needle for weaving in ends, sewing needle and buttons if needed, measuring tape, scissors. Recommendation: embroider the eyes in black if the egg cozies are used as amigurumi for babies/toddlers.

Included in the PDF download:

  • Short pattern in text form, designed for yarns with approx. 105 m yardage per 50 g
  • Step-by-step illustrated pattern, designed for yarns with approx. 85 m yardage per 50 g
both knitted with size 4.0 double-pointed needles (this makes the egg cozies nice and dense and able to stand on their own)

  • Photo tutorial “Embroidering in duplicate stitch
  • Photo tutorial “Knotting in hair with a crochet hook"
  • Separate PDF pattern for the “double long-tail cast-on

I also think that egg cozies can be useful all year round, because a shared breakfast with friends or family is always a good reason for a beautifully set table. Here I’d like to introduce you to egg cozies from my shop:

Egg Cozy “Butterfly Flight”
These egg cozies bring color to the table and are perfect for using up leftover yarn. Even though three less commonly used stitches are used—treble crochet, stitches worked deeper down, and puff stitches—this crochet project is also suitable for beginners, because everything is explained in detail with pictures and words.
--> Get the pattern here: Egg Cozy “Butterfly Flight”

Octopus Eddie
Eddie is a slightly different kind of egg cozy, because the eggs are not stored individually here; it’s more of an egg basket, so to speak. Eddie has room in his tentacles for up to eight eggs. It is crocheted with Schachenmayr Catania or another cotton yarn for the same hook size. Only standard stitches are used, so Eddie is also a good beginner project.
