Materials needed:

- Elegance: a 4-ply, plied gradient yarn with a total length of approx. 900 m was used here
- Starlight: a 4-ply, plied gradient yarn with a total length of approx. 800 m was used here; of course, you can also make it with other yarns/wool
- any crochet hook suitable for the yarn (here size 3.5)

Lantern, lantern… yes, St. Martin’s Day is happening again this year, along with the traditional lantern parades in many places. If you’d like to take part with your children, I have a matching pair of lanterns available.


 
The lanterns, approx. 21 cm ø and approx. 27 cm ø in size, are made from photo cardstock and translucent paper. They each consist of 18 identical basic shapes. You glue the leaves that you cut out of the basic shapes of the small lantern onto the basic shapes of the large lantern—this way you get a lantern set with a matching pair look without much effort.
The lanterns are not difficult to make, but you should already have some crafting experience.
