The Christmas holidays may seem far away, but time passes quickly, and soon gifts need to be bought, Advent calendars filled, decorations put up, and cards written. To keep all the preparations from getting too stressful, you could start your Christmas crafting now. It’s best to begin with things that can be stored away compactly until the holiday—like Christmas cards.



 
This card has the usual folded-card size of 10.5 x 21 cm. The glitter liner needs several hours to dry (ideally overnight), so be sure to take that into account when planning; otherwise, the card is quick and easy to make.

And here’s another lantern for St. Martin!
This one is also small and handy and can be carried by a toddler. There is a lot to cut out, but all the lines are short and straight and won’t cause any trouble even for craft beginners.


 
The lantern is made from cardstock and transparent paper, measures approx. 28 x 26.5 x 9 cm, and can be changed in color so that, using the same template, all siblings can have lanterns that look different.

Here’s an Advent calendar that you can easily adapt to fit your space: All the containers are hung on a cord—either on long strings in multiple rows stacked on top of each other or strung side by side along a long wall.



The calendar is made of cardstock, is very easy to make, and is even suitable for crafting with children. You can also use the stars as gift packaging for small tokens or party favors.
