What you’ll need:
- Approx. 60g of yarn in yellow/beige or orange, depending on what color you want your lions to be. My boy is made from Schoeller Stahl’s Zimba Medium in color 0218. The girl is made from Schoeller Stahl’s Zimba Medium in color 0022. The yarn recommends using a 3.5mm crochet hook, but I crocheted with a 3mm hook.
- Leftover white yarn for the cheeks and the belly. This leftover yarn should also be suitable for a 3mm hook
- Approx. 20 g of yarn for the mane; I used “fringe yarn” from the Schachenmayr “Brazilia” line, color 1027, lot 2206.
- Yarn for the nose and mouth, as well as a thin black thread for the eyebrows and the dots on the cheeks.
- 3mm crochet hook
- stuffing
- Darning needle and scissors
- 10mm safety eyes
- Pins to hold the limbs in place while sewing them on
- stitch marker
A 27-page detailed crochet pattern with plenty of pictures showing everything step by step. I won’t leave you in the lurch when it comes to sewing the individual pieces together, either!
Difficulty level: Easy, suitable for beginners. However, you should already have experience working in spiral rounds and have a basic understanding of crochet.
