Question about a pattern

Hi everyone,
I have a question about a pattern.
I bought the Agnes Einhorn pattern from Magic of Wool.
The pattern is very nice and easy to follow. Since I’m still very new to this, I have a question about it.
It’s about the feet. It says that in Round 7, 36 single crochet stitches should be worked only into the front loop. Then Rounds 8 to 13 are also 36 single crochet stitches. Are these worked normally, or does “front loop only” apply to all rounds after Round 7?
Because it doesn’t specifically say so there.
Thank you very much!
Best regards
Tiffy

Hey there!

I’m not familiar with this pattern, but generally speaking, when it says “1 round” worked only into the front loop,
that’s what it means. However, it could very well be different, so it would be best if you sent a private message to the pattern designer.
She’ll definitely get back to you!

Best wishes, and keep having fun here!

I also assume that you only crochet into the front loop in this one round to create an edge on the foot

Thank you all. That worked out great.
I’ve almost finished everything now except for the tongue and the inner ear.
And now I have my next question about the instructions. It says to crochet in a U-shape. I’m not exactly sure what that means. I’m familiar with crocheting in rows, but in a U-shape? I’ve looked on YouTube and elsewhere but haven’t had any luck. How is this different from crocheting in rows?
Thanks in advance :)
Best regards and have a nice evening

Looking at the picture in the pattern, I suspect that you first crochet normally onto a chain, probably have to increase a few stitches at the end of the row, and then—instead of turning—you have to crochet back along the back of the chain stitches.
At the end of the row, you’ll then crochet a turning chain and crochet over it as usual, increasing again in the middle.
This creates a U-shape.
Try Googling “crocheting an oval”—you’re basically crocheting half an oval—or “crocheting a semicircle.” Maybe that’ll help you out.

Yes, I understand it the same way as ruthk

Glad you've almost finished it! Will you share it with us in the gallery?

Good morning, you two.
Thank you so much for the kind replies.
I’d be happy to share it ;)
But I can definitely show you how it’s coming along so far

THANK YOU for the tip about the oval and circle. I think it worked out now. It’s not the prettiest, but it’s good enough for me

It’s finally finished and up in the gallery.
It could certainly be prettier, but for my first big project, I think it turned out pretty okay. Thank you so much for your support
