This baby knitting set is the ideal project for beginners: It consists of a hat knitted in the round with a simple pattern of knit and purl stitches, as well as matching little mittens.

A weekend like this is perfect for trying something out:

3 Techniques - Knitted Möbius Scarf-Collar-Headband

(To purchase/download, please click the image)

Here the basic principle and three cast-on techniques for knitting Möbius scarves/loops are presented. Try them out and choose your favorite method :-)

The PDF pattern is detailed with pictures and contains 2 patterns (see image).

Model 1 – Colorful - is a Möbius loop/scarf with a circumference of approx. 90 cm and a height of approx. 20 cm, which can be worn beautifully in different ways as a shoulder warmer and neck warmer (see image). For this we need, for example, just 1 skein of Woolly Hugs Bandy, here color no. 7, 100 g – 210 m, 100% cotton, gauge according to the ball band: 14 sts x 20 rows = 10 cm x 10 cm; circular knitting needle size 6.0 with a cable length of 1 m; stitch marker; measuring tape, scissors, yarn needle for weaving in ends. If needed, leftover yarn of a somewhat thinner, color-coordinating yarn (e.g. Record 210 – potholder yarn, here in green) and crochet hook 4.5.

Model II – Möbius Collar in Milky White fits wonderfully around the neck like a turtleneck, but can also be worn as a headband. This model makes a wonderful gift and is knitted in just a few hours. For this we only need 1 skein of merino yarn, 50 g – 85 m, e.g. Merino 85 by Austermann or Schachenmayr, 100% merino, according to the ball band for needle size 6–7 and a gauge of 16 sts x 22 rows = 10 cm x 10 cm. Used here: circular knitting needle 6.0, cable length 80 cm to 100 cm; stitch marker; measuring tape, scissors, yarn needle for weaving in ends.

Both models are worked in a simple reversible rib pattern.

These knitting skills are required:cast on stitches, knit and purl stitches, knitting in the round, knit stitches together, purl stitches together, yarn over, bind off. A basic knitting course is not included, but link tips are included.

So that your desired piece in your chosen yarns has the right measurements, I developed this helper:

Calculation helper - Excel spreadsheet for calculating a Möbius scarf

(To purchase/download, please click the image)

This Excel spreadsheet is a tool for calculating your desired measurements for a knitted or crocheted Möbius scarf and the corresponding number of cast-on stitches according to your personal gauge.

Important technical note:
This requires the Excel spreadsheet program or another spreadsheet program that can be downloaded free of charge from the internet, such as LibreOffice. (Note: Sometimes a line saying "Protected View" appears at the top; in that case, please click "Enable Editing".)

The download includes:
  • Excel spreadsheet with calculated formulas
  • PDF explanation of the Möbius principle
Good luck

Bangle bracelets made from PET bottles—modern, colorful, and casual!

Here I’ll show you a special method for quickly and easily
making stylish bangles with just a few materials.

All you need is an old PET bottle, a little yarn, and for a
touch of glamour, a piece of rhinestone chain—and in no time you’ll have a truly
unique piece of jewelry. Also great as a gift or small present.

You can combine the bangles however you like. Whether you wear just one
bangle (possibly a little wider), two, or several bangles at the same time
—they’re always a real eye-catcher. Depending on which
colors you use, these pieces of jewelry can look elegant (e.g.
in black and white), cheerfully summery (colorful in pastel shades), etc.

Go to the pattern

No metal, flexible, and feather-light—making them super comfortable to wear.
Materials used: plastic from PET bottles, cotton yarn (Catania Grande by Schachenmayr), rhinestone chain, jewelry glue.

The bangles can be washed at 30 degrees in a laundry net.

Detailed instructions as a PDF file with over 20 step-by-step photos.

On the weekend, you have plenty of time to start a larger knitting project, too. How about a triangular shawl? It will come in handy on cool fall days!

You can find the pattern here.

The shawl has a lace pattern and is knitted from sock yarn. The amount needed depends on the desired size—you can knit the shawl in any size you like.

If you want to get ready for the cold season, you can do so with a warm infinity scarf.

Here is the pattern.

It is knitted with very thick yarn, which alone makes it a quick knitting project. The pattern is simple and relaxing; you just need to know knit and purl stitches.

With a little practice, these rectangular boxes can be made relatively quickly and look extremely decorative on tables, dressers, or shelves.
If you let your creativity run wild and embellish the boxes with
matching accessories, they will become decorative highlights in your home.

They can be covered and decorated individually to suit any
interior style, whether romantic and playful in a shabby-chic look or with clean lines
and colors.

Materials: checked paper / graph paper
1 mm thick gray cardboard
Planatol BB bookbinding glue or similar, bristle brush
Ruler / set square, pencil
Scissors / craft knife / bone folder
Cover paper
Cutting mat
Each step is illustrated with a photo.

Even though this weekend is almost over, you can already pick out a new project, look through your yarn stash, and get everything ready for next weekend. Here are a few more pattern tips from my shop so you can start the next crochet weekend well prepared:

The cold days are unfortunately already on their way again. How about this crochet hat? Get the pattern now, and then you can crochet ahead for fall at your leisure.
--> Crochet Hat / Crochet Beanie “Autumn Joy”
Striped look // also suitable for beginners // all sizes

Crochet some great decor for your home and garden in no time. Or a lovely gift for friends and family. Then I can recommend this value set with crochet patterns for two different lantern jars and paper lanterns.
--> Crocheted Jar Covers “Magic Lights” + “Glow” and Paper Lantern “Summer Joy”
Great for leftover yarn // Wonderful upcycling project // Makes your home more colorful

You don’t want to say “goodbye” to summer just yet? Then bring some bright colors into your home. One way to do that is the “Smile” crochet pillow, which is not only a beautiful eye-catcher but also invites you to cuddle up.
--> Crochet Pillow “Smile”
Pillow in rainbow colors // Colorful and cuddly // 80 x 40 cm
