What nicer gift could you give a new little arrival than a cozy blanket...

It can be made in any color, yarn weight, and size; the pattern explains exactly how.

Here for the boy in shades of blue—made in rose/pink tones for little princesses. The blankets shown in the pictures
have a size of approx. 85 cm x 85 cm.

Required materials:
  • Here, 1200 m of 4-ply yarn with a wonderful color gradient was used for each blanket. The matching bobbel yarns named "little girl" and "little boy" are available from Wollfamos. Of course, any other yarn can also be
    used
  • crochet hook suitable for the yarn used (I used hook size 3.5 mm)

Colorful baby blanket—ideal for strollers, infant carriers, or the baby’s crib.
Easy to knit in any size and with any type of yarn.
You’ll need—depending on the size you want—about 300 g of yarn, a circular needle, and a cable needle. Suitable for experienced beginners.

A blanket is an absolute MUST for a new arrival. One you can snuggle up in and feel completely protected by.
That’s exactly what you’ll find in this crocheted hooded blanket with its beautiful shell pattern.

The pattern includes plenty of pictures and separate, color-coded crochet charts for the blanket and hood.

You should have the following skills:
  • Chain stitches
  • double crochet
  • Slip stitches
  • Single crochet
Materials
  • Crochet hook size 4
  • Darning needle for weaving in ends and sewing on the hood
  • Yarn with 50g = approx. 196 meters, hook size 2.5–3 (I used Woll Butt Versailles) 5 different colors: 2 inner colors (2 x 50g), 3 outer colors (3 x 50g). Adjust the amount of yarn accordingly for a larger blanket.

With the “Marie” baby blanket, you can create your own color transition. Just pick your favorite colors and get started.

The blanket measures 80 x 100 cm, making it a companion not only for the baby but later on for the toddler as well.

Only standard stitches are needed: chain stitches, single crochet, slip stitches, and double crochet. This makes the blanket a great project even for beginners. The pattern includes many pictures for the individual steps and detailed explanations.

You can freely choose the colors and size of this beautiful baby blanket. You can make it as a small blanket for the stroller, the car seat, or a slightly larger one for the crib or as a play blanket, or even a really
large one as a bedspread for the bed.

My pattern is written for a size of approx. 1.10 x 80 cm. But I
explain in the pattern how to make other sizes. You also don’t have to
decide on the final size right away; it grows
piece by piece, and you can decide at any time that it is now big
enough. The construction is the same for every size, and the border also fits
all sizes.

The pattern includes 39 pages, in which every single step is explained in words and pictures. You crochet: chain stitches, single crochet, double crochet, half
double crochet, treble crochet, double treble crochet, triple treble crochet, and
slip stitches. Everything is explained and shown in detail. If you like, you can also
work from the additionally included crochet chart.

For my blanket, I used approx. 550 g of Bravo yarn. Smaller blankets
need correspondingly less, larger ones more.

I wish everyone lots of joy with this project.

Warm regards from Ina

This crocheted blanket is beautifully colorful

The choice of colors is up to you. You can also dig into your scrap bin.

In the pattern, the blanket was crocheted with Katia Mississippi 3, 210 m running length, hook size 3.5; yarn used was 150 g in turquoise, 100 g in white, and 100 g in gray, and the finished blanket measures 84 x 67 cm.

The pattern includes both a written description and a crochet chart.
