Crochet Pattern Hat Set "Hope" (Scarf and Hat)

--> Click here for the pattern

Hats aren’t just worn in fall and winter; some of us wear hats for a completely different reason—cancer and chemotherapy. This set was created for that very reason. The Hope hat set bears its name to give courage to exactly those people. On my blog on my own website, there is a little story about this set and the motivation behind it.

The colors and the pattern make this hat and scarf look unique, too, because the post double crochet stitches really stand out beautifully here in different patterns.
If you are not yet familiar with post double crochet, it is explained again with a picture in the pattern.

Difficulty level: easy to intermediate

What you need:

Yarn: Gründl Cotton Light (50% cotton/50% polyester – recommended hook size 4-5 – 100 g = 200 m yardage) purple and white, just under 100 g each

Cotton or polyester yarn with print/color changes for hook size 4-5, approx. 150 g

Hook size 4 or 4.5 (depending on how tightly you crochet), yarn needle and scissors

What you need to know:

Magic ring, chain stitches, double crochet, post double crochet, increasing stitches

Crocheted Beanie “Blue Denim”

-->> Click here for the pattern

Jeans are always in style. This well-known and popular blue fabric can be found all over the world and can really be worn for any occasion. Of course, that also includes a matching beanie to complete the denim style.

This beanie stands out in particular because of its gray contrasting post stitches, which cleverly spice up the classic blue. Crocheting the hat in rounds creates this subtle “swirl effect.”

The pattern includes written instructions, crochet charts, and lots of pictures that explain the individual steps (including post double crochets).

The hat can be worn by both men and women.

Difficulty level: Easy to intermediate

What you’ll need:

Rellana Denim (100% cotton – recommended hook size 5 – 50 g = 140 m running length) - work with two strands of yarn; Denim (dark blue) and gray, approx. 80 g each

What you need to know:

Magic ring, double crochet, half double crochet, post stitches, slip stitches. You can also find the pattern for the matching sweater in my shop.

The pattern describes 4 different animal hats.
All patterns are knitted from merino wool with a yardage of 120 m per 50 g.

A hat that can be knitted for both children and adults
is this somewhat different model.

It is knitted with a zigzag pattern that looks best with colorful yarn,

here it uses 50 g Schoppen Reggea and a set of double-pointed needles size 5

The knitting skills required are:

> casting on stitches with a set of double-pointed needles
> knit stitches
> purl stitches
> increasing stitches
> knitting stitches together
Here is the pattern for it: Hat with points

A beautiful knitted hat for big and small

Knitted using only knit and purl stitches, this pattern comes in 8 sizes.

This pattern is written for everyone from the very little ones (head circumference 30-33 cm) to adults. The pattern is also explained step by step in detail, and many pictures illustrate the knitting chart.

You should know how to knit and purl stitches and be comfortable with a set of double-pointed needles; then a small hat can easily be finished in one evening.

For example, just 50 g of Schachenmayr Extra Merino LL 50 g / 130 m is enough for the newborn size. Of course, you can use any yarn and even dip into your leftover stash.

Click here to go straight to the pattern for this wonderful hat.

A ribbed hat—and yet not quite—definitely a warm hat for winter, soft and with a great fit.

The pattern can be found here.

For this you’ll need yarn (yardage 114 m/50 g), 2 balls of it, and 4 mm knitting needles. The pattern is written out round by round and also includes knitting charts.

This hat, knitted with sock yarn, has a beautiful lace pattern.

Here is the pattern.

I wouldn't necessarily recommend this pattern for beginners; it's more for people who already have a bit of experience with lace patterns. It starts at the bottom with large diamonds, which get smaller and smaller toward the top until they disappear completely in the decreases.

Here I have something for fans of multicolored patterns.

Take a look.

A total of three colors are used here. However, never more than two at the same time in each round, don’t worry! The pattern is available in four different sizes, from child to adult. The multicolored pattern is shown in a knitting chart.

Knitting Pattern Hat ALL-SEASON BEANIE made from sock yarn

Difficulty level: medium, easy for experienced knitters

(To purchase/download, please click the image)

For this featherlight all-season beanie, which is made with knitting needles in various sizes (the brim with size 3.5 needles, the main section with size 6.0 needles, the decreases with 4.5 and 4.0) and with a crochet hook size 3.0–4.0 for the decoration, 70 g of 6-ply sock yarn is enough, though 1 ball usually has 150 g. So with the leftover yarn you can easily knit a small loop scarf or even 1 pair of socks up to shoe size 36/37 :-)

By the way: you can find a sock-knitting course for 6-ply sock yarn here:
https://www.crazypatterns.net/de/items/22205/strickanleitung-socken-aus-6-faedigem-garn-lehrgang-mit-tabellen-fuer-alle-groessen

With colorful sock yarn, the color gradient forms automatically—as shown in this picture.

These knitting skills are required:
knit stitches, purl stitches, knitting in the round, right-leaning slipped decreases.
Crochet skills
: chain stitches, slip stitches

Knitted Hat 'Cablé': 2 knitting methods to choose from: in rounds and in rows

(To purchase/download, please click the image)

.. looks like a cable pattern, but it isn’t one. You don’t need a cable needle for this :-).

Hats don’t necessarily have to be knitted in rounds; below I have described both hat-knitting methods, both in rounds and in rows.

The PDF pattern is illustrated, but it does require general knitting knowledge.

The pattern can easily be adjusted to any head size by knitting fewer or more stitches in the purl-knitted section.

Required materials are
100 g (= 2 balls of 50 g each) Rico Creative Melange Chunky, 53% virgin wool, 47% acrylic, 50 g = 90 m yardage, gauge according to the label: 14 stitches x 19 rows = 10 x 10 cm, according to the label: knitting needle 6 - 7, used here: circular knitting needle size 6.0

a)         if knitted in rounds: with 40 cm cable length,
           60 cm cable length is a little tight at the start of knitting, but can also be used;
           stitch marker
b)         if knitted in rows, the cable length does not matter; it could then also be knitted with
           straight knitting needles;

yarn needle for weaving in ends, measuring tape, scissors

Easy Cable Pattern Knit Hat 'Killary'

(To purchase/download, please click the image)

This PDF pattern for a head circumference of 53 cm to 56 cm includes the photos from the image gallery. The hat is knitted in rounds. General knitting knowledge is required.

The great thing about the pattern used here is that for smaller/larger head circumferences, fewer or more stitches can be knitted in the “ribbed section,” so the design can be adjusted to fit any head size.

We need:
100 g Fila Doro Killary or Schulana Donegal Tweed, gauge according to the yarn label: 16 sts x 22 rows = 10 x 10 cm, 95% virgin wool, 5% cashmere, 50 g = 95 m yardage, -knitting needles 4.5–5.5, used here: size 5.0 circular knitting needle with 40 cm cable length (60 cm cable length is a bit tight at the start of knitting, but can also be used); stitch marker, cable needle, yarn needle for weaving in ends, tape measure, scissors

A simple hat for your baby—in a classic traditional style. It is knitted in rounds.

Crochet Hat for Everyone - very easy

(To purchase/download, please click the image)

A wonderfully easy-to-crochet hat for various styles, so ONE hat design can be worn in all the pictured variations, for both men and women. Also easy to make for children or as a simple hat for babies (though thinner yarn is recommended).

And the best part:

  • no gauge swatch (it doesn’t depend on the centimeter),
  • no increases or decreases,
  • for any yarn you like
  • possible in all sizes.

The PDF pattern is illustrated.

You need these crochet skills: chain stitches, single crochet.
Everything else and slip stitches are explained. Video link tips for learning to crochet for beginners are included in the PDF.

By the way: A matching crochet pattern for an infinity scarf to go with this hat is also available here in my shop:
https://www.crazypatterns.net/de/items/20003/haekel-moebius-loop-schal-fuer-alle-einfach

Material
: for the pictured model with a head circumference of 55 cm to 60 cm: approx. 250 g merino yarn, 50 g – 45 m, crochet hook 6.0; measuring tape, scissors, yarn needle for weaving in ends. The ribbed pattern requires approx. 50 g more yarn than is usually needed for hats. The crochet hook size should match the yarn being used.

Something a little different:

Crochet cap/hat (m/f) with small cables

(To purchase/download, please click the image)

This pretty crochet hat/beanie – designed for head circumference sizes from 52 cm to approx. 60 cm – for men as well as women and children, gets a nice structure from the mini cables, so you can wear it in many variations, including also as a hat.

The PDF pattern contains

  • Information on various alternative yarns
  • Short pattern (for printing)
  • A detailed crochet pattern with plenty of pictures
  • Link tips, including for learning to crochet
Crochet skills - these stitches are used:chain stitches, slip stitches (explained), half double crochet, double crochet, front and back post double crochet (illustrated).

Difficulty level: medium

Required materials:
recommended 150 g (for me, exactly 100 g was enough – only a leftover thread of 30 cm remained)Adriafil Tabata, 100% wool, 50 g – 75 m, according to the label for hook size 7.0, gauge according to the label 13 sts x 18 rows = 10 x 10 cm;
Alternative yarns: “Chunky” weight with similar yardage and label information (e.g., Rico Essentials Alpaca chunky);
Different from the label information, hook sizes 6.5 and 9.0 are used here; gauge here with 9.0 crochet hook: 10 double crochet = approx. 10 cm. You will also need a tape measure, scissors, yarn needle for weaving in ends, stitch marker (can also be a contrasting thread).

Elegant:

Crochet Beanie 'Tabata' & Möbius Scarf Collar/Loop (m/f)

(To purchase/download, please click the image)

This crochet set (m/f) in fashionable gray consists of a beanie and a Möbius scarf collar/loop.

The PDF pattern is written for a head circumference of 52 cm – 60 cm and includes both – hat and loop (loop in one size).

It is illustrated, but requires general crochet knowledge (chain stitches, single crochet, double crochet, crocheting in rounds, slip stitches, increases and decreases). The special stitches are illustrated and described. I would describe the difficulty level as “intermediate.”

For the hat, 150 g is required, and for the loop, 100 g of a yarn with a yardage of 50 g – 75 m is required. Unlike the hook size on the yarn label, this is crocheted with crochet hook sizes 8.0 and 10.0.

A completely different kind of hat is waiting for you here!
An extraordinary “brim” gives this cabled hat the perfect finishing touch!

And... this “brim” can be knitted in many different colors,
so the hat matches every outfit!

A detailed STEP-by-STEP description and several knitting charts guide you through the knitting process.

The pattern is designed for a head circumference of about 50–54 cm.
However, it is simple to make it larger or smaller as needed.

Gauge is included as always—for any adjustments!

And here’s the pattern and more details...

Women and men can never have enough hats!
The dreary season comes faster than you think, so why not counter it with colors and patterns?

The hat with the fold-up cuff is actually kept simple; the Norwegian pattern spices the whole thing up.

It’s a matter of taste whether to work with the Fair Isle technique or duplicate stitch.
I always recommend—when knitting in the round—using duplicate stitch .
Duplicate stitch is explained in detail and illustrated in the pattern.

And here’s the pattern with more details...
