Coffee Bean Pattern

Dear users, dear authors,
over in the chat thread the coffee bean pattern was mentioned.
Could someone perhaps explain what it is and how to do it?

The coffee bean pattern is knitted, in rows or also in rounds..

It is similar to a small cable pattern, with a hole in the cable, but easier to knit.

You should have the following skills:
 - knit and purl stitches - work a yarn over - pass stitches over

This pattern has a repeat of only 5 stitches, and it also has only 4 rows that are repeated continuously.
In rows you start like this:  edge stitch, 2 purl stitches ,* 3 knit sts, 2 purl sts *, edge stitch at the end ( The 5 stitches between * are repeated throughout )

I hope the explanation is understandable. I don't know whether I'm allowed to write out all 4 rows here, so just the 1st row of the pattern

Since this pattern isn't large, it works well as a sock pattern. But it also looks good on a sweater; you can even use it for traditional costume fashion. 

In my opinion, the coffee bean pattern is easy to knit, and therefore also suitable for beginners.

Hello Josefa

The day before yesterday, I came across this very same coffee bean pattern and first had to look it up online. There are some good videos out there, and the pattern is really easy to knit and looks pretty. I’m currently using it for girls’ socks.
