Dear users, dear authors,
if you still want to make something for the start of school, for school, as a school cone or for a school cone, for children, for babies, as a toy, or even as a counting aid, you should get started now.
Good luck.

More animals.
More amigurumi.
More for leftover yarn.
More for beginners.

Isn’t this a cool pencil case? There’s room inside dachshund Wasti’s belly for pencils, an eraser, a sharpener, and much more. You can crochet him in classic brown or in the schoolchild’s favorite colors.
He is crocheted with single crochet stitches using cotton yarn with a yardage of 125 m/50 g (Catania) and fluffy yarn (Lenja Baby Smiles), and he has a zipper (12 cm) on the underside of his belly.
A great surprise for the start of school!
And here is the pattern!

Do you already know Leonie? - Leonie is a very special clever little owl who is already really excited to finally start school!

Do you see the colorful school cone and her great school satchel, where you can hide little surprises? - With those, Leonie is perfectly equipped to discover the world of numbers and letters together with your child!

To make her, you need the following stitches:
chain stitches, slip stitches, single crochet, half double crochet and double crochet,
a picot or “little mouse teeth” (short description included),
as well as increasing/decreasing stitches, color changes and a magic ring

You will also need the following materials:

  • any yarn in different colors - e.g. cotton yarn (125 m/50 g in orange, red, light green and light blue, plus a small amount of white for the eyes
  • a matching crochet hook, e.g. size 3.5 mm
  • for the eyes: 2 black beads 8 mm or 2 safety eyes
  • as well as some stuffing
With these materials, the little learning owl Leonie will be about 18 cm tall, making her the ideal size to decorate a school cone as a mascot.

So quickly grab your yarn and crochet hooks and crochet this loyal learning buddy for your little school starter! You can find the pattern here >>>

If you don’t have quite that much time left before school starts and/or are looking for a somewhat smaller gift, I’d like to introduce you to the little math owl “Mia”:

Mia is a real math whiz and absolutely crazy about numbers! - And no wonder! With her colorful bead tail, learning arithmetic is really easy and a lot of fun!

Mia can be crocheted very easily and quickly from a few colorful bits of leftover yarn, and thanks to the detailed, illustrated pattern, she’s also quite suitable for crochet beginners to make.

All you need is:
  • leftover yarn in any colors and a matching crochet hook
  • 2 black beads for the eyes
  • for the tail: 20 wooden beads, 10 mm, in at least 2 different colors (5 beads of each color)
  • as well as a little stuffing
So then, grab your leftover yarn (ideally in your schoolchild’s favorite colors), and you’re ready to get started! You can find the pattern here >>>

Are you looking for suitable gift packaging for school enrollment gifts? Then this backpack is just right.

The gift bag in the shape of a backpack is made from photo cardstock (construction paper) and measures approx. 16.5 x 22.5 x 9 cm. It’s quick and easy to craft, the colors can be changed, and it can be adapted to the first grader’s taste.

The Knobblys make an excellent back-to-school gift!

These cheerful little balls put a smile on your face, offer encouragement, and can always be there as a little stress ball when school still feels very BIG ♥

On a backpack, a key ring, a pencil case... they love to hang out everywhere and spread a little cheer ♥
