Hi everyone,
I’m looking for a type of yarn that’s waterproof—meaning that if you knit a swimsuit or bikini out of it, you should be able to go in the water without any worries.
Do you know of anything like that?

Well, I don’t think there’s anything like that. In all the years I’ve been doing needlework, bikinis and similar items have always been just for sunbathing.

Ja,es geht mir darum,das das Teil dasitzen bleibt,wo es hingehört und nicht einige Zentimeter tiefer sitzt.
Habe eben gelesen,das man eventuell etwas mit sehr hohen Elasthananteil nehmen könnte,was gibt es da?

Hab mal geschaut: entweder Syntheticgarn oder Naturfaser mit Syntheticanteil, wenn der Bikini auch zum Baden benutzt werden soll.

Also, with almost all the yarns I know of, there’s a risk that the colors will fade.

Vielleicht wäre es dann auch denkbar, an allen Außenkanten einen Hutgummi einzuziehen. Probier doch mal, einen einfachen Schlüpper mit Synthetikgarn und mach den Praxistest in Dusche oder Badewanne.

Wool—oh dear…
You could try stretch sock yarn (with a cotton blend). I’d definitely secure it with elastic ;-)

I recently read somewhere about a new type of wool… it was called cork wool… it’s supposed to be waterproof and water-repellent… I just can’t remember exactly where…
