after the long summer break, the new school year begins. To make the return (or first start) to everyday school life a bit more colorful and cheerful, we’re collecting inspiration here in this thread for school cones, pencil boxes, pencil holders, pencil cases, matching gift packaging, good-luck charms, animals, keychains, etc.

You can crochet Wasti, the little pencil dachshund, in true-to-life brown or in imaginative bright colors. I used Catania by Schachenmayr and fluffy or eyelash yarn for the ears (Lenya by Schachenmayr or Oggi by Lana Grossa). You’ll also need wiggly eyes, some stuffing, and a zipper (approx. 12 cm).
Wasti is crocheted with single crochet stitches. There is room in his belly for pencils, a sharpener, scissors, and an eraser. But he can also hold your crochet hooks or knitting needles.
If you only want to crochet Wasti as a cuddly toy, simply leave out the zipper and fill the belly with craft stuffing.Click here for the pattern!

Mini Unicorn “Fee” Crochet Pattern

Hello everyone, My name is Fee and I’m a small and very rare unicorn girl. I love to cuddle and am also perfect as a keychain or bag charm. At my delicate 7–8 cm, you can take me anywhere, because I fit into any bag :-) What you need to crochet me:

• Approx. 10 g of yarn/wool in white/cream (I used Schachenmayr Catania Fine, color 1001). Your yarn should definitely be suitable for a 2 mm crochet hook
• Scraps in pink and purple, both also suitable for a 2 mm crochet hook
• 2 mm crochet hook
• stuffing
• Scissors, darning needle, stitch markers
• 6 mm safety eyes, or black thread for embroidering the eyes instead
• If you want to use your unicorn as a keychain, you will also need a key ring

The pencil cup becomes very sturdy thanks to fabric stiffener, so you can store colored pencils, crochet hooks, etc. in it. Babsi and the pencil cup are a highlight on any desk.

I crocheted the pencil cup using Cotton Universal yarn by Wolle Rödel and Catania by Schachenmayr. I crocheted Babsi using Bravo yarn by Schachenmayr and Lisa by Gründl. The pencil cup should definitely be crocheted with cotton yarn, because the fabric stiffener ruins the stitch definition of acrylic yarn.

Required materials:
* For the pencil cup: Cotton Universal: yellow, approx. 30 g, leftover Catania in dark yellow
* For Babsi: Bravo: light gray, approx. 40 g, skin tone, approx. 15 g, leftover Lisa in black and white.
* Crochet hooks sizes 4, 3.5, 3 and 2, embroidery needle, sewing needle, stuffing, pipe cleaner (small piece), fabric stiffener (e.g., by Rayher), fabric glue (one drop), leftover felt in medium blue, hot glue gun, potato chip can (diameter 7.5 cm) and a piece of plastic wrap

The big day is coming up

The pattern is suitable for beginners.
